I'm new with this, but when I used pspersonalize you had to do it manually every month but supposedly this program does it for you. If you want them to change every months you make 12 and number them 01 - 12, if you want the same one you name it BG.
I'm not sure why it is messing up on you, you could try a couple different things. The hard way would be to make 12 copies of that background and name them 01 - 12 and add them all to the folder and see if that works.
Or to get a completely new image, show the picture in its true size in windows picture viewer, ms paint, or photoshop and take a screenshot of it. Crop it to it's original size of 300 x 170 and save it as a png named BG in the same folder you got the original.
It's possible that the image is not the correct bit, like say it used to be a gif and was converted to png using a paint program but still has the limited color palette, that will cause problem with images I have noticed, doing this may fix it but it probably won't. :p
