Got my first chance to enter in to the world of Home Brew. I have downgraded my TA-082 JAP PSP fw3.03 to 1.50 and to then 3.03 OE-C. The first thing i have done was to test my PSP290 with mapthis!
There was no problems at all ... It worked fine.

Thanks for the heads up about the Holux 240/236 cable. Now, i'm starting to think that the holux receiver is a better way to go, especially since I have bluetooth built into my laptop. The holux 240 could take care of both the PSP and my laptop.
This is way off-topic, so please pardon me, but could anyone suggest a software to use with the Holux 240 on a Windows Vista PC?
Or maybe there could be a way to port MapThis! onto my PC, seeing how there's already a program to download the maps off of google/MSN.
Again, sorry for going off-topic, but i have no idea of where to even start looking.

i am haven a similar problem as Rhipone. I can find sat but they don't find me..
I am in japan.
i know that my 290 works because when i use the gps test program i get a fix and it is very quick. I am also using 3.03 oec. I have used usbgps and usbacc from fw2.71.
i did get a fix with mapthis earlier today but it has stopped working again.
I'm getting the GPS receiver for FREE to review!! SWEET!
can this app automatically download required maps via Wi-Fi if the GPS unit is connected?
