No, Sorry :(. The ps3 remote is strictly restricted to work ONLY for the PS3. If you have linux, you are in luck, it will work. However, if you are running windows, your bluetooth won't communicate with the controller. One time, I don't know how, but I was able to communicate with the controller, but I couldn't access it (On windows).
This shows how the bluetooth will function:
If you put your ps3 on standby, then you press the ps button, the bluetooth signals meet and match and communicate with each other and the ps switches on. If you first switch on your ps, your controller will first look for a special bluetooth ps3 signal. Then it will bond with the ps.
Any other signal will be rejected by the controller.
