Not Fixing On Any Satellites

what exactly does the initlocation mean? and would it differ with diff areas or is 8 almost always gonna be the fastest?

First info:

Live in- Northpole, Alaska (yes it does exist)
Firmware- 3.30 OE-A' (A2)
Motherboard- Normal 1.5
Using GPS unit- PSP-290
Using PRX's- 2.71's (only ones I could get to work)
Running under- 1.5 kernal

I followed the guide exactly and before I posted my problems in the beggining, I tinkered with mapviewer a bit. I put it in the GAME330 folder of mine and mapviewer displays my map fine. Also I did try the green progie and both that and mapviewer could find satellites.
But... (yep you knew I was going to say that)
I can't get any satellites to fix into my location (yes I pushed square to turn on my gps and I set my speed to 111mhz), aka it doesn't even bother to zoom in to where I am/ doesn't bother to locate me. I don't want to bother doing POI because I just want the program to work and find me. I stayed outside for more than five minutes and even drove my vehicle for 20 minutes and no satellites locked unto me whatsoever. I gave up after my trials and hopped on this forum to gain some help from the community or it's creators. What am I doing wrong?
Did I need to create geodata?
POI needed?
Wrong PRX?
*Note I put a camprx in my root, the prx's in the mapviewer folder (not % one) and made a new folder in mapviewer call 271 with the prx's inside)*

Most of the time you need to let your PSP rest for approximately for 10 minutes before Mapthis locks the sattelites.

Driving around while trying to fix doesn't give you faster locking.

To lock, just don't move the PSP (It's even better to lay it down somewhere outside), and put the PSP-290 receiver in horizontal-stand.

Just have patience (although I know it's gotta be freaking cold out there)

Mabye the cold also has influences on the sattelite finding- and fixingtime, but I don't know that for sure.

INITLOCATION only supports values 0,1,2 ? however I'm getting the same problem with No Fix locations, however using the GPSTest (PSP290) and increasing the location to 8 gets several fix locations but still no luck with mapviewer 499.

map this needs to be ran in 3.xx kernel for use with psp 290, make sure your using the right eboots

Actually that unofficial version of map this contains "INITLOCATION=8" as default so it could be best option, if it even does something. my gps unit finds max 10-11 satellites in wide area, but it doesn't still get enough fix to get good signal (max. 5 fix). And my friend gets like 10 fixes in same place. So what could make this difference?

anyone can help me? i've done everything i can but when i click on the GPS INFO...everything juz shows 0...what can i do to troubleshoot now?

Hey everyone, this is what I have found to fix the GPS fixing issue:
Start Mapthis, open your smallest map (I use the global map) before moving or changing zoom levels, press the start button and change the CPU clock speed to 333. Then press select and open the map you want, move and zoom all you want. The chance of freezing at 333 is virtually zero.
If you have a GPS reciever now press start and goto GPS info, press the down key and change the speed to 111, this will ensure you get a fix on the satellites. Once fixed, go back to your map and turn on GPS mode, once your position is located change the speed back to 333.
As with the other posts, keep the PSP in one spot outside in the open while fixing, with the CPU on 111 it won't take long to fix at all.

I run 3.40oe-a and have a GPS-290.
