MAME4ALL Ported to PSP b2 (CPS1 and Neogeo Previews Too)

Well .... after looking at the source code for _8_5 ....
seems the drivers are there for the regular roms .. but only Cps1 and Neo geo and a couple of sega seem to be working ...... which by the way work really nicely for me .. Its also nice to check the Cecksums of the roms using the source code .. to make sure it matches .. and if not then using Crlmamepro to fix those .... I'm guessing since the drivers for the regular roms are still in the source and do work in B1 version and now that those specific roms are not showing up in the roms menu .. that something has been turned off ... option somewhere in the code .. So is there anyone that can reactivate it .. and recompile the source to include the ones from the compatability list .. since I know that they do work in B1 .... Thanx guys ... And a big thanx for the French Guy that redid this .. double thumbs up to ya .. im really excited about this .. and look forward to more releases of this emu .. cause im a huge mame fan .. Thanx once again.

Seems almost all my favorite Arcade games are playable with the current versions (although with the controll problem)

The one i cant run is RoboCop, which is said to be supported but dont show up on the list.

And what about the rom? do I need to convert the file? Is so what software to convert? I got a screen of the menu but no root on it, seem like hanging....

budak , beta 2 only working with cps1 and neogeo roms , beta 1 rest of games , change to version beta 1 and look :)

Now you tell me.... only work on firmware 1.0 - 1.5! I have been downloading and downloading this ... thought I didn'r something wrong! PlS POST IT FIRST BEFORE U EXPLAIN HOW THIS EMULATOR WORK.... WASTING MY TIME!

funy56 , download the beta 2 to play cps1 and neogeo roms , or beta 1 to rest.. in the root of ms , make a folder called roms , and put your roms , if you dont put any rom, the emulator crash and turn off your psp , put roms and dont turn off :) to "insert coins" you select sound off , and start the rom , press select to up credits, and push start to play the game, enjoy .

budak put any rom cps1 ej: cadillacs & dinosaurs (dino.zip) , and put in the folder roms (dont change the original rom name) start the emulator and disable the sound (L or R button to change the options) in the rom configuration menu, and save , now press start to play the game, push now select to up coins and push button start to start the game , enjoy

Most CPS1 are working but sound is poor

What's up with these Neo-Geo roms? I did a scan on my roms and it says im missing all these funky roms and the roms that ive always known to be the main roms are said to be "uneeded"?

long file name roms that i am "missing" but the C rom, etc are "uneeded". What is going on?

For example my romsets all have the P, C, V and M roms but this emu seems to be looking for romsets such as: n138001a.038 (from andro dunos).

I dont understand where/what these roms are as the actual game boards don't even have these.

N3oGhozt all roms of mame 0.35 to gpx/gp32 works , see suco packs of mame 32 , download and use these roms, with neo roms, i dont any problem

is there eany instructions on how to use the controls for the PSP specialie to get out of a game.
Works great just having problem to get out of games with out turning the psp off. :rolleyes:

mi bad forgot to mention i was talking about the mame4all for psp

There's no exit button as far as I know, you have to hard reset the psp

How do I work with mame4all_8_5_src on my PSP?
It seems to see the source code...
Anyway, with mame4all, with me it only works CP1 roms.
But for ex: Ppl say that "toki" works (besides no sound) but not with mee. And I have all set roms shown on page 5.
So, is really needed mame4all_8_5_src to make this games working?

mame4al_8_5_src is the source code for that application. Only usefull for other developers or people that want to "tweak" things out. You do not need it.

Ugh, Cant seem to get this operating on 2.6 . Weak. Ah well.

Thanks hope there will be one in the future. this is by far the best emulator i have for the psp. Had not played it for months till iran in to it

Sound worked in most games i tried, but no sound in wonder boy 3.
Are there any other improvements besides these?

is there a newer list of compatible games for this relese

if a game is compatible it will show the name on the list if its not it wont thats what i notice but that doesnt mean the game will work;)

Lokojose, your build supports better sound but lacks the sleep mode of the original release, can you fix it? Also, does anyone have any news of updates coming, it's so close to being an incredible emu with a few fixes (cpu clock tweaker or full screen mode for example).

this is that what i do since the previous version
return to the romlist
added some new romset :
background bitmap fixed(need to find a good one before)
fixed the screen when a roms is loaded(before the rom loading screen wasn't cleared)
and this is my todo for the next version :
have a fullscreen mode(i'm working on it)
have a config file (code is written but doesn't tested it)
find a way to quit the apps properly(i know how to do it)
adding sound in the menu(when u push a buttons)

and now for the french

j'ai essayer quelque trucs les derniers jours et la psp manque cruellement de memoire
meme street fighter alpha est trop gros pour rentré dans la memoire
je c pas comment je vais faire mais mon but été de jouer a ce jeux
et je pense qu'écrire une vmm sur psp serait un peu risquer :
avec la vmm on ecrit la memoire sur un suport de stockage .
le seul moyen c'est d'ecrire sur la carte memoire ... et la duré de vie ben elle va baissé ...
j'ai vu que gngeo sur gp2x utilisé une technique pour parié a ce probleme
il extrait les graphisme des roms sur la carte memoire mais bon la c trop compliqué pour moi

Just a quick note, I have the gp2x and gngeo is mindblowing, you can play even the biggest roms on a supposedly inferior machine vs psp like gp2x, I wish someone could make it work on psp, but it doesn't look good.

Looking forward to a new mame version without the "walk problem."

Also, will you support the analog stick? That would really make the games more playable.

Im more interested to know if the screen change will be a posible

I got 1.5 Fw and beta 2 isn't working for me .
