Just the best ever, really simple to!
can someone please tell what the two files are for
Thanks Fantastic emulator!
this amazing! i like it so frikin much! thanks
this may be repetitive, but i downgraded to 1.5, and put the emulator folder in the game folder, and still nothing works
Is there any specific reason y sonic 2 has no sound with DGEN?
probably a bad dump, i have it and it works fine
Is there going to be another release for this emulator, like just things for polishing the emulator?
i sure hope so
I've been hoping for an update for a while...
Whenever i try to put an emulator onto my psp, and i have the 1.5 firmware, i always get a message that says some contents may be lost, and then it says ":encryptable:$DATA", and this ends up making the data corrupted, if anyone knows how to fix this please help!!
are we gona see any updates for this emu in the future? it has been almost a year now, I was playing sonic 1-3 the other day and i can really notice a slowdown in frame rates between the three games.
I noticed that sonic one had some huge bugs when trying to laod the saved states and I just can't seem to get more than 55fps without frame skip on, it looks good at frame skip1 but even better with it turned on!
I've played all the Sonic games with it and it runs fine. 30fps is what games should typically be aiming for. 55fps is incredible.....while anything over 60fps can't be registered with the human eye.
errr... games should be aiming for 50 / 60 fps depending on whether they are running as PAL or NTSC, as this is the speed the original machines run at.
This emulator could use development, but the key factor for getting more speed will be the 68000 processor core, for which there is the FAME/C core as a faster alternative, but tests with PSPUAE have proved it to be somewhat less compatible.
If DGen was open-source i'm sure there would be progress. Maybe someone should lobby the authors to release it.
DGen is open-source, DGen/SDL official website
ye 50+FPS with sound would be great but as I mentioned there are a few problems with the save states and some games just crashing :(
I can't get the emulator to work. I have custom firmware 3.71 and have tried to put the files in a folder called Dgen into both the Game and Game150 folder and it says 'the game could not be started' when I try and run it. Other homebrew works fine.
Any ideas much appreciated :)
im having a similar problem with slypie, but on mines it gets past the psp logo then the screen turns black and the psp swtches off, ive gt 3.71 M33-2 psp phat and i put the folders in game150, any1 know how to fix this
Yes, some games like Jurassic Park crashes the emulator. Change the mode to Normal instead Performance. If it not work you must another emulator (Megaman: Wily Wars dont run in DGEN)Quote:

You instaled the 1.50 add-on ? DGEN requires the 1.50 kernel to run and 3.71 M33-2 doesnt come with it.Quote:

This problem occurs with me when i copy the emulator from a MS to another.DGEN shuts of my PS P . Just delete the two folders of the emulator in the MS and unzip again the contents of the zip file of the emulator in GAME150.Quote:

thnks dude thts fixed, playin mk 2 now :D
Yo, another total n00b here. I've just installed the custom 3.51M33 firmware...but I can't get the emulator working at all. I've tried both versions...I feel like an idiot. NOTE: I've got it to boot via eLoader, but it crashes after I try to load a rom.
I've got SNES9xTYLME to work though...playing Earthbound on it is AWESOME.
Wow, you must be new seeing your post count is one.
Here's the question I got for you and I'm not trying to be sarcastic...
Why the hell are you trying to get this emu to work?
If you kept up with the PSP scene, you would know that DGEN and PSPgenesis are soooooo old. Picodrive for PSP is the best Genesis emu around! You can play sega Genesis games 60 FPS with no frameskipping, have awesome sound, and the kicker...
PLAY SEGA CD GAMES!
That's the emu you should download because that is what everyone else has done. Just go a page or two in the main PSP News Thread and you'll find Picodrive. PM me if you run into any problems or need help.
EDIT: Just in case you are a bit lazy and don't want to do the page surfing or use the search button, here's the link to Picodrive-
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/sho...ight=picodrive
It would help if there was some indication on the menu bar down the left hand side of the main page as to which emulator for each system is the most advanced/compatible/preferred by the community.
I guess it may seem kind of rude to the authors of the alternatives, but there really is no way for newbs to find out which emu to use for each system without them asking in a thread like this or starting their own.
I wouldnt mock him for trying out dgen though da1writer?
Although picodrive is far better at emulating all the sega games the one major advantage of dgen is that you can do adhoc multiplayer battles!
I do apologize for being a bit rude though (I know he is new and all, sorry), It was a reaction due to this thread "coming back from the dead" and my mindset of knowing Dgen 1.7 is about a year and a half old. I prefer Picodrive over Dgen any day due to the fact that
1) I don't have many friends who own a PSP in order to play adhoc multiplayer with.
2) Quoted from you Baboon, " far better at emulating all the sega games "
3) It's new and 10x better than the last Genesis Emu entries.
Of course, this is a matter of opinion from me but I've played between DGEN, PSPgenesis, and Picodrive and frankly... Picodrive mops the floor of the other two. OF course multiplayer would be a great addition, maybe Notaz will add it down the road after he adds a bit more updates to the gp2x version (just like Exophase is doing right now ...)
NOTE: I'm really crossing my fingers that Notaz ports his SNES emu from GP2x to PSP. Seeing that he did an awesome job at the Genesis emulation makes me wondered what he did on the SNES front ;)!
Dude try Snes9xTYL
does anyone know how to get the AD Hoc mode to work? Does it work with a phat and a slim or do they have to be they same...they are both running 3.80m33-5
same with snes9xtyl with netplay any ideas on how they work?
Dis wont work on my psp i have 3.80 m33 it saya game cant be started
If you can't spell 'this', I'm not sure anyone should even bother trying to help.
isin't picodrive still better?
correct me if i'm wrong but would using this new emulator not make a difference since picodrive is fast and also plays mega cds ow whatever if they would add ad hoc it would be complete and there would be no point for dgen
well im going to test it out on virtual bart see if it doesnt have broken sound in one of its levels
edit:i tested it and it has worse sound in the intro than picodrive but the rest of the game is the same i guess i'll just keep it in my psp for when i wanna play multi player since i can just acces my roms that are on the picodrive folder
dgen already has ad-hoc
Yeah I should have read the previous pages, see I always thought there was but then I never had a chance to try it so I never used it and when I tried the other day I couldn't see where to start the adhoc on DGEN? I tried with SNES and NES but after the connection and the game booting (tested various games) for about a matter of seconds the psps would freeze and then the flushing network whatever then the error on one of the psps (then you have to manually reboot). Some games would freeze almost instantly after the loading, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I litterally copied my same emulator files to my friends fat new 3.90 M33-2 (same as me) and ran the same exact rom files. HELP?
the only game ive tested is street fighter two and it worked fine but it would still at times freeze and i would have to wait for it to go into sync again but i havnt had big problems sorry i am of no help
bacalacadaca: Picodrive is better IMO. I have heard people say some games run better under dgen, whether that's true I am not sure.
I have both on my psp still but havnt touched dgen since picodrive came out.
No_one_in_particular: LMAO :)
He's typing like he thinks black people talk.
yeah im aware of that if you thought that i said the game ran better on dgen i didnt mean that but what i am not aware of is all the ****ing 1337 chatspeak haha.
what does IMO mean?
"In my opinion", can anyone help me with my problem please (previous post^) ?
Please someone help me with multiplayer ad-hoc mode in these emulators such as DGEN.
