yeah you would have to kxploit the eboot

The PSP 1.5 os was made to use update eboots with out kxploit ;)

Actually, its 1.5 anyways. You would just need to run an unpatched GTA game and use the update...

when you tried to autoboot an update did you change the config.txt in SYSTEM

tried to update through unpatched gta...wouldn't work unfortunatley...."your fw vewrsion is 2.7...no need to update to 2.0"
