Man the forums are messed my reply to a question si listed before the question... Hopefully Martin will get this sorted out.
i aint 100% sure i know the important issues about this downgrading stuff so b4 i do it i wanted to know if some fings.
1. can you play iso games on a firmware ver 2.
2. can u play umd games that require ver2 or higher on a ver1.5 and how
Don't talk about iso's!!!!!:p
thanks kaiser, one more question. When you downgrade will you lose everything on your memory card, and is there ne differences between the internet function on ver1.5 to ver2.0
Your MS will still have the same stuff you had before the downgrade. The only difference lies within the browser abilities. To browse the internet on 1.5 your going to need to emulate firmware 2.0 or browse through Wipeout Pure.Quote:

Unfortunately I upgraded my psp long ago and it seems there’s no turning back for it, but yesterday a coworker lent me his 1.52 PSP and I’ve just successfully downgraded it!! Its kindda scratched and for some reason the analog stick is stuck hitting down (although to physical contact it doesn’t feel weird at all), so Ill try to talk him into selling it to me :D Thanks a bunch Kaiser !!!
If you downgrade the PSP and then upgrade it will it still think that it is 1.5 or will it change to the new version? And if not is there someway to undo the downgradeing after it has been downgraded?
And btw what is the success rate of downgradeing your PSP (don't want it to get ruined). And what does a bricked PSP mean (kinda new into this download things for PSP ^^)
Upgrading a downgraded psp WILL change it's version. Just upgrade if you want to undo it. And if you follow the instructions perfectly I can assure you you won't break your psp. "Bricked" just means broken. THIS ONLY WILL WORK ON A 2.00 PSP NOT ANYTHING HIGHER.Quote:

I've noticed a question that people keep asking that never gets answered, and now I have the same problem.
I updated to 2.00, but all I got when I go to the photo viewer is I see the overflow.tif as a Corrupted Data.
Ack! Do I have a misbehaved version of 2.00? Is my PSP just weird? (I downgraded to 1.50 from 2.6 "successfully" but all homebrews were giving me a white with colored bubbles PSP starting screen then freezing. I figured I'd upgrade to 2 then downgrade to 1.5, see if that fixed it.)
bleh. Any ideas?
Ok... I've ran into some trouble with the MPH downgrader...
I have placed all of the files into the correct locations "index.dat and h.bin into the root directory, overflow.tif into ms0:\PSP\PHOTO, 1.5 eboot in ms0:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE)...
what happens is, when I push X on the memory stick below the photo icon, the PSP just locks up, freezes, and shuts off. when I reboot, it's still at v2.0... Please help :(
Nothing to say? Nobody has ever encountered this problem before? :(
EDIT: NVM, already got help from QJ.net. Thanks for all your help
I have a V2.01 instead of V2.0. Does this procedure works for 2.01 too? Does anyone downgrade a v2.01 before?
for 2.01 u need to upgrade to 2.5 or 2.6 and use the 2.5/2.6 downgrader at www.psp-hacks.com u also need the eloader(super bock) and GTA:LCS(unpatched) for this to even work so before u upgrade make sure u have the unpatched GTA:LCS
I have double checked Everything the guide has advised, and i have correctly done everything(to my knowlage), but when i try to get the 1.5 ver update, the message "Update not required, you have version 2.00" pops up. any solutions? Post or email me at [email protected] Thanks!:D
u need to go into photo first to run the downgrader then u run the update when u make sure the downgrader has "tricked" ur psp into thinkin its at 1.0(which its supposed to do) and when u run the update it only goes to 99% then u get an error THIS IS NORMAL just wait like 15 secs after the error message pops up then hard restart ur psp(by holdin the power button for 10 secs) and then turn back on and ur at 1.5 :DQuote:

try putting another image in your psp that starts with a letter before O, such as A-N. It worked for me, and I got that tip from PSPUpdates, not here, where nobody is.
It did that on mine. did it have 3 of each letter?Quote:

I start by downloading the MPHDowngrader.zip from this site and I open it up. When I try to copy the file h.bin an error message comes up saying "The system cannot find the file specified." and it wont let me copy the file onto my computer or into my PSP. I have used many different programs and many different methods to try and get it out of the zip file with no luck. I have Windows XP and I was wondering if anyone had any idea about this and could maybe try to help me.
I just downgraded even though i already had 1.5 I did it again because i heard there were some problems if you downgraded from 2.6. It was simple thanks to the awesome guide if you have a problem finding the file just disable your antivirus software and any types of firewalls that may stop the files from being copied to the PSP.
Glad you a perfect 1.5 PSP JD/ :)
Yea its nice to know that my psp is a perfect 1.5 firmware :). I saw one thread where someone got a partially bricked psp due to unstability of a freshly downgraded 2.6 -> 1.5 :(.Quote:

sweeet goood job wrag
if i do have o do a hard reset at any time, what will happen, and what will i have to do after that? sorry, im being really paranoid.
psp_iz_my_system. downgrade. it will ask you to restore default settings. that is normal. just downgrade- there are pretty much NO risks of bricking.
