FWIW, I agree that the Dark_Alex fanboying should be kept to a minimum. He doesn't read here, the posts are redundant. We all think he's great already. There's really no need to incessantly reiterate it.

Incidentally, a little tip. If you append &pp=40 to the end of the URL for this thread, it will display 40 posts per page as opposed to 20. Makes for a few less clicks, and makes it a little easier to read.

I also think that asking questions that have already been answered earlier in the thread is selfish and deserves a severe attacking with the cluebat.

Now, my question. Does anyone know if Flash Agent or any of the other utilities that free up space on flash0 are compatible with this firmware?

ETA: Lonewolf: Nice sig but TOO BIG. The mods will remove it if you don't resize it.

Yes, SpooForBrains...Flash Agent works. I'm using the latest version and it worked,it reads the firmware as 3.03 OE-C,weird.

yeah i was wondering the same thing? When I had 3.30 OE-A and tried Flash Agent it said i had FW 3.03 OE-C

ETA: Holy Crap! I bought a new Sandisk 4GB recently, and creating the DXAR is SO much faster than it was using my Sony 2GB. It used to take over an hour to generate, and that was done in about five minutes. Guess that Sony stick (probably a fake ... which makes me uneasy considering I've updating using it several times, gah!) will be going in the bin!

Hey I just noticed my Tomba! 2 psx game doesn't work anymore, it loads the "Sony Computer Entetainment of America Presents" screen but just stays to a black screen after that. I don't get it though this game used to work on my custom firmwares, I even tried a different eboot with different save numbers. I'm not sure what the problem is but has anyone else been experiencing problems like this with Tomba! 2?

Means you can have all the EXACT homebrew from a 1.5 but enjoy every sony update as current as 3.40. It's having your cake and eating it to, it's amazing!

ps. Anyone get Tomba! 2 working on 3.40 OE-A, I had it working on at least 3.10 OE-A but it's not working anymore. If anyone has it working for them please tell me.

Check this post again if you already forgot. Didn't you read my last post? Check it here again, I said very clearly why I think it is not a good idea and I think everyone can tell I did think about it. And just by the way other peoples feedback here also wasn't really that positive ;)

You said that it takes me one hour to write a post, what is not true, it just takes me a few minutes. So I was wondering, why you say this to me and think I need one hour. The onliest thing that I could think of was that maybe you did reckon up the length of my post with your own typing speed.

I agree that all these "thank you dax" messages can be annoying and I never said that this is wrong. I just wanted to make clear that

1. ordering people around to just not post
and 2. sending emails to DaX (also to a special address just for fanmail)

is not the way to go. I explained very clearly why not (also why not a special address for fanmail, see the links above to my earlier posts).
I think that everything should be said by now about this topic and hope "everyone else" agrees.

Well I don't think fighting about people flooding it with thanks to D_A is going to make it any easier to get any help with the new custom firmware.....
Regardless of if it is annoying, I don't see any point of even thinking D_A should make an email adress for fan mail
If you want people to shut up, post a topic, make a fake email adress and say
This is D_A's Fan Mail e-mail adress, flood it with thanks!
It's really not THAT bad, and usually soo far with thanks I've also seen questions following them so I don't see a point of complaining about it if they asked questions RIGHT after the thanks
You're entitled to your own opinion about whatever, don't get me wrong
To me it's just not the best way to go about things, but it's fine either way

If you are using any official SONY firmware above 3.03, you are out of luck I'm afraid.

You would need to be on 1.50 or a previous OE custom firmware to install 3.40 OE-A.

If you are on SONY 3.40 you will likely not be able to enjoy homebrew with that PSP for a LONG time, if ever.

If you cannot or will not get another PSP, the only advice I can give you is to NEVER UPGRADE AGAIN and hope for an exploit and downgrader one day.

Erm something is wrong.....I did this 4 times and it does the same thing. (I did this from 1.50, if I had the problem, I downgraded again)

I download a fresh 1.50 eboot and a 3.40 eboot, run the update maker, generator a dxar file, copy it to the flasher (as the readme says) then I update from 1.50 but it converted my PSP to Japanese as the buttons are switched during install and the default language and time settings are set for Japan...but my PSP is a UK one :S
and then again, I can't access configurations in the recovery menu at all throughout the 4 times, I even downloaded the easy installer and installed that...the same problem, could it be something wrong with flash1? I need help

It doesnt surprise me that your tomba 2 is incompatible because my hercules game gets a huge black bar on the bottom of the screen, even worse i didnt back up the save for that game...

I thought you have updated already,
now this is some weird shit, you said you downloaded a fresh 1.5 and 3.4 eboots, maybe you get the ones for japan

but this is really strange though, because since I got my 1.5 eboot for a downgrader I´ve never worried again about te upgrade´s region (maybe i got lucky gettin the right ones, lol)

it may be since mine is US
try getting the upgrades from here www.psp-hacks.com

PS: don´t know why you bother to get to 1.50 again since you can update from previous custom firmware (I do it this way and it works perfectly everytime)

Might be though but I did update already from 3.03 OE C straight to 3.40OE the first time but the problem of the configuration menu freezing and shuting down my PSP every time and then I recovered to 1.50 using the recovery folder and the 1.50 eboot but ever since then, my PSP kept going to Japanese

but the updates are english, I downloaded the 3.40 from the us sony website but the 1.50 (which I have always used for updating) from PSPudates website

So I haven't a clue what's wrong Mike_img, it's starting to really annoy me now grrrrrr

Hi, I've always used Devhook, but am feeling the need to move over to DAX despite my laziness due to the good word that has spread.

But before I do, is Remote Play for the PS3 working in the DAX 3.xx oe ? If not, would I have to use Devhook for this still?

Try putting them in game150, or use recovery mode to set the game folder kernel version to 1.5 instead of 3.40.
