This was what I figured out should've done, cause recovery eboot wont erase the files (also pandora), you need to manually restore a flash backup if you want to downgradeQuote:

If your MS is 4GB, you can still make a pandora :) It's OVER 4GB that is the problem.

hmm not sure if anyone else has this promblem with the phat or slim verson (i have a phat) but am trying to scan for wi-fi and it coming up with the error (ok just looked and it says it fine maybe it just when u can't fine 1 that it gives you an error, i'll try it again when in an area with no wi-fi single and give you a code if it comes up)

Just so everyone knows, DON'T UPGRADE... This has no 1.5 kernel and is pretty useless, unless you're using a PSP Slim.

Yeah I need serious HELP people, I cannot access the recovery menu on my PSP 1000 or Phat. I have tried the powering the PSP up and holding the R-trigger without the memory stick and it doesn't do anything for me. I have tried taking the battery out for several minutes and then trying it and to no avail. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME THE **** OFF!
edit: Okay somehow after trying MULTIPLE times the memory stick thing did work but I now have a question, do Top_Menu plugins work on this CWF? I just want to change my icons to the platnium ones I'm used to but I don't want to brick so I figured I'd ask.
Captain did you try accesing it without the Memory Stick inserted?
Edit: Oh yeah, me dumb...
Uh... do you have the VSH Menu Plug-in Enabled? So you can press the SELECT Button and access it, then get in the Flash0 and re-flash it and see if that fixes the error.
Okay I have gotten 2 of my 4 plugins to work so far on 3.71 M33 (AntiUpdate & PRXInfo) the ones I haven't been able to work is obviousl POPStation and my VSHAnalog plugin. I hope the patch that is comming out will fix these. But wierdly though when I accessed the Flash0 from the recovery there was NO topmenu plugin file to replace so I didn't try to change my icons to platnium. Can anyone tell me if changing my icon colors is a possibility as of now?
Anyway to go about downgrading back to 1.50(Or any other fw/cfw) from this one...I forgot to make a backup....and I also tired the generic downgrader and it didn't want to work for me gave me 2 missing files errors...
Is there a reason why you can't downgrade using Pandora (on the phat)?

edit: Okay I got impatient and now I think bricked, I can get recovery so, but yeah as I attempted to put the top_menu.rco file for the platnium icons in the Flash0/vsh/resource/ folder it said I replacing a top_menu RCO file but it wasn't actually visable on the screen so I couldn't copy one to backup the file. I replaced it and now my PSP will freeze after startup before the icons would show up and then after that it will only bring up a black screen then shut off. Can anyone please supply me with an original top_menu RCO file to get my PSP to startup again or tell me what I'm doing wrong to get these Platnium original icons to work on 3.71 M33.
I bought my PSP in Canada. PSP-1001 series. I am running 3.52 M33 but will this update work for my PSP or is this only for european PSP ?
If I were you, I would wait for the Game150 folder plugin, the installer says it does not included in the update, so we should wait until dark_alex "erm" M33 comes it in their site.
BTW, Ive known in the first place that dark_alex is m33, the clues are in its m33 recovery menu that more like dax, and we all know that only dax can know how to deal with the updates, and psp stuffs,
And for the peps who are still on 3.40OE and stucked in OE firmware and not on M33, i would say they are all losers, hehehe.:D

Okay I tried Recovering back to 1.5 but it gives me errors and doesn't return me to 1.5 like it's supposed to. Trust me I have ran recovery to 1.5 before so everything is setup right but it still isn't working. Someone please post the original top_menu plugin.RCO for 3.71 M33 so I can have my PSP. Please SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!
I think its not working cause if im not mistaken it needs the 1.50 kernel to work...i tried to go back to 1.50 too but because in the recovery menu when i switch to the 3.71 kernel... it says its using the 3.52 kernel...I was gonna start from scratch to make sure i did it right but like you the recovery pack didnt work

Damn, it looks like alot of us need the 1.50 patch for 3.17M33...
Cyclonus could you possibly access your flash0 via USB from the recovery menu to send me a copy of the "topmenu_plugin.RCO" from the "/mso:flash0/vsh/resources/" folder? I can't even start my PSP right now because I couldn't make a backup of it when trying to change it to platnium icons, please I'd appreciate it alot and it only takes 5mins.
Well IRshell is dead with this release -sighs-.. Now I'll need to wait until a newer IRSHELL release comes out... Other than the incompatibilities with older software, the firmware works perfectly for me.. recovery menu and all, I can still run homebrew using Team Noobz e-loader made for the PSP Slim.
OK, I get why recovery doesn't work as it did in previous firmwares, but is there a reason why you can't use Pandora to go back to 1.5 from this release?
Also, there have been a few changes in this release from previous custom firmwares. Would it have been too much to say:
1. Using recovery to return to 1.5 will not work because x. instead do y.
and to mention the fact that you may need to remove the memory stick to access recovery at all (which, also ... why?).
It seems like the drama llamaing is more important than getting across basic information these days. It never used to be that way.
