Not with mapthis! you need to use in7ane's gmdl tool and then open the directions tab and use map24 to create a route.
The generated file then has to be loaded into the mapfolder you are using.

so many questions^^
hi folks!
yesterday is created a map with ne newest version of gmdl and it seems that map this! runs quite unstable.
i don´t know if it´s the program itself or the maps that makes my psp crash. the app is installed in game310 and works well if zoomlevel keeps untouched. but when i zoom in or out, move the map around map this! sometimes chrashes.
is there a solution?
------
why doesn´t map this! calculate my position wuth only 3 or 4 sattelites? isn´t a trigonometric calculation possible with 3 sattelites (minimum)?
--------
how can i force the receiver to work faster?
sometimes it needs 5 minutes to get position data when starting the app and having 8 sattelites available all the time? from the moment on it is working its doing the job very well.
---------
is the speed displayed in mp/h?
and if yes - how can i switch to metric system to have it shown in km/h?
same problem with hight... (attitude)
sorry 4 my bad english, but i hope you can help me. i really love this application - it´s amazing!
maybe someone here knows where to find a german tutorial.
best regards
Ace

@the_ace, i assume that you're using the PSP290. what version of the prx's are you using?
i think it's up to the GPS receiver to calculate the geographical coordinates and send them to the PSP/Map This!.
Have you check the config.txt? There're some settings in there that can affect the performance of your PSP290, ie. INITLOCATION.
Check config.txt on whether a conversion factor is used to compute speed and altitude. I believe the "1" factor is associated with knots and meter, respectively.

@zsc:
hi, thanks for your answer.
you`re right. it´s the psp 290 i´m talking about.
i unfortunately cant´s tell you the version of my prx´s. i got those from a file sharing server.
which are working best? maybe you have a link?
i´ll try the settings in the config file, didn´t have much time for testing. i got the psp-290 yesterday and it was raining^^.
is your map this! running without any crashes?
thanks :)

@GiUd@
I just made a small route in my home town in Germany: This is what worked for me:
1.Start gmdl
2. Open directions
3. Activate map24 ,local.live or google
4. Choose apropriate site i.e de. maps.google.de for Germany
(map24 did not work for me)
5. Enter Starting point:
PLZ(Zipcode) Strasse(street)
e.g. 76726 An Deroy 21
6. Enter Ending point
PLZ(Zipcode) Strasse(street)
e.g. 76726 reduitstrasse1
7. Click on „Route Berechnen“ (calculate route)
you may skip this step but then you won`t see the calculated route in gmdl
8. Once route has been calculated click Button „Get Values“
9. Activate the „create intermittant“ function and leave the default value, otherwise you will only have the most important waypoints in your map and it won’t look like an outlined route from start to end.
9. Click Button List
10. enter a name for the route
makesure it starts with _ i.e. _myfirstroute
11. click Button „Save POI“
12. copy generated file to the mapfolder you are using
You will find the generated file in the same folder as the „Google Maps Download.exe“

Mods: If this violates TOS, please remove. Sorry for cross-linking to another forum/site, if files exist on DCEmu, please change as needed.
Getting PRX files:
What you'll need -
1. PBP Unpacker - http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/97
2. SONY Official Firmwares - http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/36
3. PSAR Dumpers - http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/38
What you need to do -
1. Download and install PBP Unpacker.
2. Download Sony firmwares (2.71, 3.03, 3.10)
3. Open the firmwares in PBP Unpacker, extract just the DATA.PSAR (right-click on it, select extract)
4. Download PSAR Dumpers, make sure you're using the correct version with respect to the firmware version
5. Put the PSAR Dumper (do this one version at a time) on your MemoryStick Pro Duo (MSPD)
6. Put DATA.PSAR in ms0:\ (root folder for the MSPD)
7. Run PSAR Dumper (same way as running MapThis)
8. When prompted, press the "O" button (dump WITHOUT sigcheck), THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!
9. Once finished, exit program and connect to PC, move the flash0 or f0 folder from MSPD to PC.
10. Find usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx in flash0\kd\ folder (or f0\kd\ folder), copy them to a new folder, name the folder with firmware version number.
11. Repeat step 3 through 10 with other firmware if needed.
PRX files go into your mapViewer folder NOT seplugins or flash0.

@the_ace, follow above instructions to get prx files. I am currently running MapThis! 0.47 for Holux GPSlim 240 without any major problem. However, I was able to get MapThis! 0.461S to run, though only in map mode as I never received the PSP290. Play-asia.com took forever so I canceled the order and bought the GPSlim 240, which works with my PSP, laptop, as well as my Motorola SLVR L7 phone.

@zsc
Nice tut on how to get the correct PRX.
If you don`t mind I'll copy this into my FAQ ;-))

@rhygin, are you making a FAQ? I'm working on updating the wiki on MapThis! and GMDL. Google "wiki Map This!", someone made it a while ago, i'm going to update as soon as I have time.
