i SWEAR to god i had 2.71 a dumbass friend upgraded it ONCE and mines a JP model he used wifi and did it BEFORE the us 2.71 was even out so i'm 100% its 2.71

i have no wifi noones touched it but me (i live alone) and i have no umds AT ALL ive been using it for mp3s and thats it

i dled the downgrader from the link here and got 1.5 from pspupdates i tried it over 50 times all i got was freeze weird chime then deboot

eventually i looked... psp version 2.8... WTF WTF W T F!!!????


i know thats impossible because of the above facts

if anyone knows if this uses any code from the official sony 2.8 PLEASe tell me because that may be why it says 2.8


trust me i know it has never been upgraded its been 1.5 untill he upgraded it and i never even let him use my ds anymore so its impossible

Perfect update! Just as it said! I was pretty bummed when I flashed to 2.71. My brother in law wanted to downgrade too. Hope he wasn't an unlucky bum who upgraded to 8.0!

Now to figure out the whole Devhook thing...

BTW, a BIG thanks to the person who pointed out where the folders go. I almost made that same mistake!

PLEASE someone tell me or tell me where to find out i dunno if i should run any new updates or a downgrader for 2.8 (if it ever comes)

i'm afraid the downgrader jacked up my psp and i dont wanna run a new downgrader and be out $250 because i WONT get any money to replace it soon

are the psp's in stores coming with the new motherboard that doesn't allow downgrade?
just want to check cuz i want to buy a extra one

oh and giggity i think your out of luck for right now but don't upgrade to 2.81 when it comes out, just wait for a 2.8 downgrade because im sure it will not be long before it comes out

buy online dude its cheaper anyway in most cases

but i believe you can find out from the upc i cant remember tho google it i know theres ways to tell firmware and maybe even motherboard by checking the packages upc

but im not as mad about the 2.8 as how the hell it got that way like i said it was the downgrader cus that one insane guy bricked his 2.8 and i did it like 50 times so something is wrong here

Hmmmm, i so wanna try but i love my psp way too much to brick. Whats and Eloader and does it work as well as downgrading i just wanna play gba and n64 on the go would be really cool.

an eloader is a program that sneaks in erm...unofficial codes and allows those programs to run. By unofficial, i mean any eboot.pbp that do not have Sony's encryption code =/

the uses of the eloader is barely a fraction of that if u downgrade. Once u have 1.5, u won't even need the elaoder and u can launch games off the XMB with a lot of cool apps that require kernal mode like IR Shell. An elaoder is not out for 2.70 and 2.71 yet though. Moreover, eloader may have compatability issues, namely some homebrew aren't running though they shud. In a nutshell, eloader can't hold a candle to fw1.5

If u're really scared of bricking, here are some tips u may wanna use
#1. plug in your psp with the AC adapter and of cos make sure the batt is above 50%. This reduces the risk of bricking as there were cases when the batt ran out when flashing was in progress and it resulted in a brick

#2 if ur psp still has warranty, u may need to lie a little to get a refund or replacement if it ever bricks. In the event that u get a replacement, it will most likely be the newest firmware and a ta-082 mobo. the thing to do then is to sell it off and buy yourself a 1.5

u may wanna change the part of your sig in red..particular about the iso loader. it isn't wise to let others see your intentions as this site is anti piracy and iso laoders are closely linked with that.

hmm ok id have to talk myself into it. I have a 1gig memory stick. Ive heard that people with over 32mb seem to brick fo no reason. Also where do i get an official 1.50 dump. my mate tried to do his and instead of 1.50 he ended up with 2.80 which was kinda worrying. Also do you think there will be an easy downgrader like the one for 2.60 cos i feel that is safer. sorry for all the newb questions i just cant afford to brick my psp i wanna be clear on what i gotta do
