best combination
is
usbacc.prx from Firmware 2.71
and
usbgps.prx from Firmware 3.03
Usually I get a fix within 2 minutes or less.
Yesterday it fixed within 33seconds.

Guys I still cant get it to work, it wont get past the loading usb accessory, it just hangs.
In the MapThis0497_beta there is a system directory.
Where does this go on the PSP ?
Also where are the two .prx files placed ?
EDIT:
OK, I got it working, why does the beta not have any documentation ?
The reason for the problems was the directory structure was wrong and with no
documentation it was like stabbing in the dark.
Why not 3.30 or even 3.40 prx file ?
Because with my actual configuration, i get the best results ;)
but that doesn't answer the question, its just your opinion. i personally think the whole mix and match a prx with this one thing is bullshit... but perhaps, since there are new innovations and talks of the US release of the GPS then maybe the 3.40 prxs are significantly better... you see what i'm getting at? if you just get stuck thinking your configuration, which is old in terms of psp firmware, is the best then how will you test to see if newer is better? in my experience it is. anyway- has anyone decrypted the 3.40 usb prxs and care to share how they did so?
I'd have to agree with taspankya on the prx-sensitivity issue. It's more or less agreed upon that 2.7x usbgps.prx had some bugs and performance issues (displaying gps coordinates in some part of the world and saving session data for later faster aquisition). Those issues were addressed in earlier 3.xx fw releases( probably arround 3.03 everything was patched)
At this point, it would be hard to do anything to boost the gps performance w/o actually changing the HW, imho...
There is nothing wrong with trying to keep up with most recent versions..but the performance gains are likely to be coincidental and/or subjective..
(most of GPS-290 owners would agree that there are "good" and "bad" days ;-)
Yes but i don't get the thing that you'll have to use 2.71 USB prx and version x GPS.prx
Why the old 2.71 prx for usb acquiring ?
ok so on the psardumper330 i just pressed "O" instead of "X" on my 3.40 data.psar and it worked. i got the usbacc and usbgps ... i tested and they work just as well as older setups... 60 seconds or so i got a fix. but then on my second test it took about a minute and a half to get a fix... its all dependent on so many variables for fix time. i dont think prxs will help improve anymore... gps fix time is only relative to your location, clear skys, and where at that point in time the satellites are above you.
I have to pretty much agree. I've spent a couple days testing various prx files. Sometimes I can get a lock in 30secs then after a quick reboot nothing for 5 mins or even not at all with the same set up.
Until someone can come up with some solid evidence that certain .prx's work better and under whatever firmware its all just muddling around in the dark.
