Wait untill all movment stops on the firmware installer. And then you will seem admist the jumbled text instalation complete press x or o to exit. If you do not see this. Then the firmware is not finished installing bro ;)Quote:

It also gives you direct access to the PSP News forum so any releases you post there will make it straight on to the front page. :DQuote:

Guys updating during Firmware emulation WILL NOT WORK! Also, it won't brick your PSP. It won't let you update. REMEMBER, DevHook has been out almost a month before the patch came out to allow this site to put it up. Don't you think it would've been tried before? Well it has, and it doesn't do anything.
Also, the reason you can't run a 2.6, 2.7, or 2.71 DATA.PSAR through the DevHook firmware installer is because 2.6+ have a different encryption which hasn't been cracked (yet, but because of the kernel access on 2.6, the encryption will be found soon, because it is kept in the kernel memory space). Since there's a different encryption, the firmware installer wouldn't work on it because it would try to decrypt it with the encryption keys for 2.5 and below, which are different.
