and if anyone doesn't want to restart a game they can always use CWcheat's memory card saver and loader, then rename the card to what CWcheat is trying to find on the newly converted game from the previos game. If that made any sense...
no crashes in FF8. i did almost everything. scan every enemy, cast every spell i had, use all limit breaks... i used also everything on diablos (not only squall's limit breaks) and elviole... not a single crash.
but there are slowdowns when you enter a battle or a new scene... trust me it's worth it. i'm now at the beginning of the timber mission, so it's not that far, but it should have crashed dozens of times now, but it didn't... well i'll post more when i beat the first disc
here is what i used:
- SLPS 01222
- mono sound
- battle movement: 0%
- no compression (though i don't think that matters)
- i've got the PAL version

you have to make the eboot again with the new game ID; maybe you should try a program called "Icetea", I use that one and works fine
you dont have to recreate the a eboot to fix a game all you do is load up the image with popstation gui and just add a new id-and the process is quick since you just editing the idQuote:

Anyone got FF7 disc2 working correctly?
What exactly do you mean by correctly? I got to make it to disk 3 a while back but stopped playing the game. I know for a fact that FF7 is glitchy and a bit slow at times in battles, but I haven't had the game crash or freeze on me all the time I played it, and I'm still at 3.03 OE firmware.
I've heard of people who've already been able to beat it on 3.03, too...but who knows, maybe changing the ID to the Japanese one will help the game....all it takes is confirming the first couple of battles.
Heck, I'm getting glitchy colored textures for some of the Zombies in RE3, and picking up some items makes the game take quite a long black screen pause (Downtown area Green Herbs mainly) but I've managed to play the game all the way...Playing Mercenaries right now.
BTW, can somebody answer me this?
How does Final Fantasy IX carry save data over to the next disc? Just like FFVII, whereas you just pop in the next disc's Eboot in your MS? ....or does it need the Cwcheat MS dump trick?
I'm downloading the game right now and can't wait to play it.

Hehehe...I'm hooked with the game! I'm probably going to upgrade to 3.40 OE sometime soon if it means better Pops...although I have to admit the glichy Zombies look quite fashionable in those 80's neon wear...lol Blood Splattered faces and everything....I thought it was really funny when in the top floor's hallway of the Police Station a huge Pink Zombie popped out to lunge at me ( The really Fat one) lol
Since 3.30+ FF7 has been freezing on boss battles and random magic attacks. I'm at the beginning of disc 2 and malboros make the game lag, and after escaping from battle the textures are all messed. So much so that it's impossible to continue playing the game.
