40 reasons why the PSP is better than the DS

I am a big fan of the PSP and hate those people that try and argue that the DS is better than the psp just because of the touch screen so i have decided to put them straght with 40 reasons why the PSP is better than the DS (try and beat this DS fans)

1. You can play the most amount of homebrew software on a PSP
2. You can update the system software when the software goes out of date
3. You can connect the PSP to the computer
4. you can adjust the PSPs system settings withoout having to restart your system after resetting them
5. you can have a nickname on your PSP
6. You can use a wallpape on your home screen
7. ou can use RSS channels on your psp
8. you can set up your netwrok settings properly
9. you can view photos on your psp
10. You can veiw slidshows on your psp
11. you can create new folders to store photos in
12. You can listen to music
13. Yo can watch music videos
14. You can watch UMD videos
15. You can veiw video off the mem stick
16. You can make more than one save on each game instead of one

You can do this on ds lite #5 , #9 , #12 , #13 , And the DS lite is much litter then the psp. A who am i kidding the PSP rules your list is right.

- Can you? I the flash player is out of date, but I can't seem to upgrade that.
- Custom Firmwares can be flashed to the DS

- So you can use it as an expensive card reader?

4. you can adjust the PSPs system settings withoout having to restart your system after resetting them

- But yet you have to exit a game?

5. you can have a nickname on your PSP

- And on the DS

- Look at me I have a pretty picture

- Good advantage. It be interesting to see what DS Opera offers in contrast.

- Which you can do on the DS. Why is it on an advantage even if the DS couldn't?

- As a base function yes. Pretty handy if you have a Sony camera. This can be done with a Supercard on the DS though.

- Again nullified by the supercard. Base functions only, it is an advantage

- Been done and dusted by Nintendo already on the original Gameboy.

- Subjective. The DS has Settlers, Trauma Center, Metroid Hunters, Resident Evil.

- The DS you can close the lid and protect the screen at the same time.

- No you don't you just shut the lid

- You HAVE to have a memory stick to save games, DS you don't. Super Card takes any size SD card.

Some DS advantages:

- Great online service and is used heavily by Nintendo now.

- Cheap/Inexpensive for both the unit and games

- Better battery life.

- Uses solid state media which means no loading times, smaller and more durable then UMD discs

- Touch screen adds a new dimension of games not previously seen on many handhelds. Offers mouse like control (as seen in Metroid Hunters). A good example is Trauma Center.

- Cheaper to develop for.

- Backwards complatible to an extremely large GBA library

Let's not even compare the PSP and the DS, both are great handhelds.

i agree with Yaustar. I love my psp a lot more than a ds, but the ds also has many advantages over the psp. You really cannot compare systems liek these because they both have strenghts and weaknesses against eachother.

ds has more advantages.... and i think psp has a few advantages.. but stronger...

I wish i could buy a ds.. dont have nemore money after..

IMO I think that they are both about equal. The DS has far better commerical games and control, yet the PSP has better homebrew and some other stuff. It really depends on what you like. Commercial games or homebrew.
