It should not lock up,sounds like you don't have the firmware installed.Yes it will play older umd's up to 2.71.Which is the firmware you should install not 2.7.
It should work. All UMDs are known to work with the latest Devhook. Does 2.7 load up without a UMD present, and once you place a UMD in the drive (in 2.7) the psp freezes?
EDIT: someone always seems to beat me to it!
Sorry ,we must have been posting at the same time:)
you should post your devhook settings here ukarron, so we can fully help you.
yes its 2.71 says so in system info but freezes up
as soon as i put a umd in in locks up why is this
probably don't have the firmware files, you will have to get them
The installer i gave you has the 2.71 firmware dump included. It should be fine. Try re-installing!
hi daz mate .. what just install over or delete them from crad 1st?
Just re-install Devhook over the original It will just replace the files. And Dont forget return to stock. And i've answered you e-mail so check that, dude.
cheers mate just done that will check psp now..mail hasnt arrived yet for some reason
nope still does the same locks up
as soon as i put a umd game in it just locks up

Oh and you can edit your posts as well as delete them, people sometimes get mad over double posting.Just a heads up;)
i dont think you have any of the firmaware files so you can ask a friend for it or search on google for .46 devhook unltimate installion and download and it has everything you need.
so in short, he had it set to Iso(whatever it says here) rather than UMD disk, i guess it freezes cause it tried to load something thats not there
(sorry for talking about the forbbiden taboo, but im just trying to figure this out)
Ok, is there a fast way to change between devhooks "higher" firmware and my original firmware? SO far I can boot recover and hit 'home' to return back to my 1.5. But how do I easily jump back into the devhook's higher firmware spoof? I only know how to re-run the devhook unstaller, redump firmware and the save. Takes forever. What am I missing?
