PSP Pricedrop to $150 Coming?

ATR analyst P.J. McNealy tells Chris Morris that he guesses that Sony will be dropping the Playstation Portable to about $150 and packaging the cheaper system with a few games.

While I suppose this is possible, Sony did just tell me last month that they absolutely wouldn't be cutting the price of the PSP anytime soon.

What I think is way more likely is that they will stick to the same price, but bundle it with a ton of stuff, like a few games, movies, a Memory Stick and a case.

But McNealy remains resolute: "This price cut is coming in the second half of the year."

I just don't see Sony playing with the price of the PSP while in the throes of launching a console and preparing to roll out a robust online download service for the handheld.

I wonder how much It cost to make a psp anyone know?

$150??? they should drop the 0 and they will be gone with the wind haha

if that happens PSP's on the house im buying ;D

either way, I can guarantee that either the bundle or the price cut(whichever one it will be) will probably come with the latest firmware.

wow good price :) maybe because Nintendo is selling more DS's than sony selling PSP's :P

i bet the value of the psp will be 150 dollars, but they'll add in some stuff like camera or a game or both just to make it look like its 200

If a small price drop is made a reality, coupled with the upcoming holiday season, the PSP has a chance to gain ground in its fight with the DS Lite. If you don't think that by now the PSP has some great titles and many more to come over the next 8-12 weeks, you are living under a rock somewhere or are just a fanboy biased against the PSP.

Great they are ready to play with nintendo.Next thing nintendo will drop its price of the NDS lite to 110 usd from 125 usd

they better wait until i sell my second psp to somebody.
I payed $199 for it 2 months ago, and then I found out its a TA-082... Bummer...
I bought another one off ebay... HAHAHA...

If the price drops to $149.99 I would buy another one ...
