Well if you get it from the shop you will probaly get a TA-082 motherboard i would recommend getting it on ebay

It's very likely if you buy a new one that you won't be able to play any homebrew at all. If you get anything over 2.80, no homebrew. It's also likely that even if you get a homebrew compatable firmware, you'll get a ta-082 motherboard, which will prevent you from downgrading and getting some really cool homebrew. You're either going to be stuck with slow user-mode homebrew or none at all.

oh yeah I hear about the ps1 emulator is it true and is it worth it I want to play ff7,8,9,5,6,4

There is a psone emulator out called psx-p but I don't think final fantasy 7, 8, 9 work on it.
You could use snes9xtyl to play 4 and 6.

Best version for homebrew is 1.5 and you can emulate 2.71 and go onto the internet

dudes....ebay aint the place where you can only get the 1.5 youre handing out such false information

IF you live in the USA you can go to COSTCO because it is a wholesale store they mostly have all the old versions of the psp most of them are the C version and they still are

but most of these guys are right about the part of the TA-86 blah blah thingy but it highly unlikely just dont go to best buy or future shop or radioshack

check this link for finding what the psp's firmware before you buy please note ALL firmwares below 2.71 firmware CAN BE downgraded but TA-082's are found when the firmware hits 2.50 or 2.60 be cautious...

UMDs are universal so all psps will play all UMDs around the world

I haven got postage to USA but i could add it.

And yes it plays any games form anywhere and UMD movies i think.
