Calling all Sig Artists.

We seem to have a lot of incredibly talented sig designers here at DCEmu.
I thought it may be a good idea to see who everyone thinks is the best. My idea is to have any sig artist who wants to enter PM me a sig picture they have designed. The sig must have no name to say who designed it, but can obviously have some text. Maybe something standard like "Sig Artist Battle 2007"

I will then post all the images and the DCEmu public can vote on a winner. I will then reveal the designer that made the winning sig for you to all heap copious amount of praise on.
What do you all think?
Any ideas are welcome.

EDIT: To help everyone who is thinking of entering, I've decided to put some clear rules down.
1. Entries must fit into the DCEmu size rules.
2. Only one entry per artist.
3. The sig must contain the test "Sig Artist Battle 2007"
4. There must be no text or images to say who created the sig.
5. The closing date for entries is 31st December 2006.

One question: what is the point of this, when we already have SOTM?

its kinda more fun, because your mates wont vote for you, because they wont know which one is yours, (maybe)

The SOTM contest is great, but like S34MU5 said people know who did which sig, this might be fun or it might fall flat on it's face.
Props to S34MU5 for sparking this idea off.
Anyway the first entry is in so I'm calling 7 days from now for all entries to come in.

this will get pretty intresting. We should make it a theme that u have to do though. Like do a nintendo theme or a halo theme, what ever theme u want

Maybe on the next one have a theme.
Have this one free for all.

A better idea would be, find 3 extremley talented signature artist and have them as judges.

Maybe there will be themes and prizes and such in the future, but for now this is a kind of a trial. It may work, it may fall on it's face but hey it's fun.

I was toying with the idea of having judges but I kinda prefer the idea of public voting. So all can get involved, even if you suck at art (like me).

I wasn't having a go at your graphics skills.

No-one knows me as a sig artist or a graphics artist for that matter, i was just telling people what ive done (not that it would do much good as he hasn't released any of the games ive done 3D for)

Nothing wrong with a little friendly banter between combatants, but keep it above the belt guys.

Useless post : The thing is, you can never master Photoshop, you learn a style and then you create a style. of all the amazing things you can do with photoshop out of a scale of 1/10 most of us would be a 1 or a 0 -.- I just know that most of us know a limited amount of styles. ( about 3 )

Photoshop has like thousands of functions, not counting the plugins. That means that no one knows them all, not even in Adobe cause it was made in modules. But that's why I'm interested in it so much. It's a great tool.

2.) do they have to be a certain size?

lmt you shouldnt say when you have entered etc its better that no one knows who entered at what time and if they did at all, :)

But the sigs that people have sent to me aren't necesarrily the sigs they use.

as i said before i created the new sig size of 500 by 150 pixels;)
