help me use irc

im an irc noob

i have my name made and everything

i need to know how to get to #dcemu

uhh i know the commands /nick and /join
thats about it

ok i got in the server thanks to kaiser's sig

now what
how do i chat

ok now ive found how to use /list

theres a channel with 23 people in it called dcemu

i cant quite get in it though...

do u see the menu at the top of the page

I cant get into DCemu IRC either . Never have been able to because I always get the same msg -

Try a different server. Usually "irc.efnet.pl" & "irc.servercentral.net" work best.

In order to join a different server while staying in the one you are currently in, you could type for example:
"/server -m irc.servercentral.net"

If you would like to leave & change servers anyway, just type the "/server" command without the "-m"

If you are unable to change your nickname, that usually means there is someone else in EFnet with the same username you are trying to use, so try a different one.

That's pretty much all you'll need to know. BTW, color commands are with the "Ctrl" button, but those aren't allowed on #dcemu. ;)

One thing to note is, not everyone is chatting in there constantly. So if you go in and you don't get a reply within 10 seconds it's not because people are ignoring you. :P

It's most active around the USA evening time. ;)
