Plugin to load 3.02 POPS on 3.03 OE

new release via Dark_Alex

his plugin is to load 3.02 psx emulator in 3.03 OE.

Although a lot of games work better in 3.03 emulator than in 3.02, in some cases
it is the contrary, so you may want to load 3.02 psx emulator in certain cases.

Instructions:

- Copy seplugins to the root of your memory stick.
- Using some of the latest psardumpers, extract the 3.02 firmware with the option of the button X.
- Once done, copy the following files from /F0/kd to /seplugins/pops302: meaudio.prx, mesg_led.prx,
pops.prx and popsman.prx.

- Enter in recovery menu, and enable pops302ld.prx plugin if you want to load 3.02 emulator.
- Run the game. It will run with 3.02 psx emulator.
- Whenever you want to use again the 3.03 emulator, just disable the plugin from recovery menu.

Known problems:

* During tests i tried castlevania sotn compressed. During the game i noticed anormal high activity
in the memory stick (note: the fact that the prx's are in memory stick is not related to this issue,
since they are quickly loaded to ram).
It didn't happen with the game not compressed (and it doesn't happen in 3.03 compressed).
I don't know if this issue affects other games.
In such a case, it may be a problem of the mixing of modules, or maybe just a 3.02 problem.
If you experience that problem, you may want to use uncompressed games if it slowdowns the game.

i really find this a little bit useless.. all my games are working perfectly on 3.03oe.. but like i said before.."i'll put on my PSP everything that's made by DAX!" so this is one more thing to put!

Yep i have it in perfect what everyone has told me "ms0 > psp > game > scusxxxxx > eboot.pbp & keys.bin " =/ i don't know what the problem is but I'm about to give up

are you even running on 3.03OE-A or B or are you running on just 3.03 official firmware by sony?

Also have you tried changing your kernal? If your on 3.03OE-A or B that is.

Yes I'm running dark Alex's 3.03 OE-B , and no i haven't changed my kernel on 3.03 OE-B =/

well your psp MIGHT have a UP chip in it or your psp just doesnt like the program. Sorry to see youre missing out on this great feature, but maybe if youre lucky, someone here will know how to fix your problem

i fixed that 80000004 problem b4

all u have to do is delete your save files b4 u upgraded to 3.03

if that dosent help

delete everything thats in ur memory stick

all you need to put back in there is your (make sure u back it up first)

I dont use Devhook so DH folder is useless

I tried using these PRX's and I got a black screen. Maybe you have to dump the PRX's yourself? Any thoughts?

Yeah, 3.03 OE-B is great. Glad to see more people are going to be using it.

I did have to decrypt my own 3.02 psar.

Now I can play -all- my favorite PSX games.
My PSX collection is now complete.

If it dosent work then maybe you decrypted wrong

make sure you press X when you decrypt (with sig)

cause i tried pressing O and i get the black screen

How do you decrypt? what do you mean? I downloaded the PRX's that were uploaded here. So confused....

You should decrypt your own using your PSP.

Get the 3.02 firmware (Eboot.PBP): here

You will need to extract the DATA.PSAR from the Eboot.PBP
You can do that with PSPBrew: here
Copy the DATA.PSAR to the root of your MS

Get a copy of 3.03 PSAR Dumper: here
Copy it to your GAME150 directory

Launch the PSAR Dumper
Use the X option button to decrypt the firmware, wait until its finished.

This will create a F0 directory on the root of your MS with the files you are looking for.
Follow the rest of the instructions in the DAX readme.
You do not need to keep the F0 folder on the MS.

Yea...when i did these upgrades from 1.5 to 3.02 OE > 3.02 OE' > 3.02 OE B > 3.03 OE > finally to 3.03 OE B I did not have anything on my memory stick, it was totally clean , aside from the stuff u needed to upgrade duh~ :P ) But yea i tried it again still no go~:mad:

cuz my game wouldnt play and i forgot to add the .Bin extension on the Key.Bin..so you might wanna check that

Yea many people have told me that, but what u just told me is that its KEY.BIN not KEYS.BIN so iam gunna try that right now unless what was just a mis-type

yo i found out the problem as i got it myself using the psx2psp convertor the problem was i changed the SLUS game id to a different one and it stopped the game from working i dun know why but it did that so fix it and you should be set:thumbup:

And as for the people that help me by posting it had to be decrpyt thanks ima test that out right now cause i pressed square for all lets see....gonna edit on whether it works.:o

i also notice that resident evil directors cut sound was fuzzy in 3.03 but now sounds crispy with the 3.02 plugin enabled. maybe dark alex can now focus on game compatibilty because some games seems to crash like resident evil 2 or does that update rests with sony since its there emulator were hacking:rolleyes:

ok =.= i have another problem i suppose i can just post here ok i had a uncompressed FF7 right and played it a while then compressed came out so i compressed it and put it on how would i go about transferring save data from the uncompressed to the newly compress =/ any clues?

If you havent already done so, you can delete the
DATA.PSAR along with the F0 folder when your done.
More MS space is always better.

I keep backups of firmware I have decrypted using my PSP on disc.
You never know when you might need files from one
firmware or another for what ever reason.

omg....... this is REALLY frustrating....... first i did all that was necessary for the plugin to work aka dump the files copy them over to the plugin, then i go to start ffviii and after the warning screen my psp freezes completely. so then i downgraded to 1.5 the reinstalled 3.03 oe and re-did all of the plugin stuff and IT STILL WONT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!! >_< could SOMEBODY... ANYBODY... gimme their thoughts about this issue!!!!!!! =(
