Question Regarding DCEmu Policy...

I think the area has gotten a little grey, so I would just like to confirm one way or the other...

I'm not on a crusade against gameboots. Quite the contrary. I think they are harmless. And I have some awesome gameboots I wouldn't mind sharing. :)

I would guess that the're legal. I see them hosted on sites all the time.

Well unfortunatley, the tools to make them are not. But Wraggster posted a LINK to one the other day.

So does that mean we can LINK to them, but not actually HOST the gameboots here?

Gameboots are illegal, $n!pR cleared this up in the staff forums already so no they can not be shared on DCEmu nor can they be links posted to wear you can find them.

Wraggster probably posted a link not knowing that the files contained illegal in fractional material.

Thats a shame. Iwould have liked them shared.

I thought I did reply? I moved it to the staff forums and asked what our stance on these files were. Maybe I forgot to send a reply... oh well :) . We get scramble brained sometimes, but we do listen.

These things are much like xbox files created with the leaked XDK. If an illegal tool is used to make these files, then whatever they output is also illegal. This will be our stance on anything similar in the future too.
