my new faceplate just came in. its the XCM chrome Smooth As Silk faceplate from modschipstore.com . the installation was really easy. all the buttons work fine, though the d-pad isnt as sensitive as it was.

its not like real platinum. its like a chrome paint or finish or something.

Yeah, I've had this faceplate for some time, too. The Dpad and buttons are crap...well not all buttons, just the Dpad and the Square one....So I eventually just left my SONY originals, till I find a flawless review on custom buttons.
Also, I'd like to mention how great this faceplate looks when backed by the limited edition MPO silver cover. I'll post my pic soon so you can see.
