Playstation 1 to PSP conversion (Tutorial)
With PSX2PSP you will be able to play your own PSX backups into your PSP with a few simple steps.
1) Get a Playstation image file in .bin format (not iso). In my case I will use my Chrono Cross Disc 1 to exemplify the process. I used UltraISO to get the CD Image.
2) Browse in the PSX2PSP Folder and select Classic Mode Shortcut. You can choose one of the others but I find myself comfortable using this method.
3) A window will open, here you must fill the necessary boxes to convert your image.
First BOX: Browse for the Image File, in my case: CHRONOCROSS.bin
Second BOX: select in which folder the converted file will be placed:
In my case I chose Desktop.
Now the other boxes will be filled automatically, if you want to add a background picture and an Icon feel free to put whatever you want, if you do so click on Preview, it will allow you to see how the pictures will fit.
4) Next click on Convert, wait a few moments while the image is being converted. After that Browse for the Game Folder located on the destination you have chosen, in my case I will find it on the Desktop. Move that Folder into your PSP's Memory Stick, the destination will be:
You can always change the name of the game folder into something more symbolic, for example Chrono Cross Disc 1. If you are lazzy just leave it as it is.
5) Now turn on your PSP, and select Game > Memory Stick, if everything went okay you will be able to boot the game and play from now on.
IF YOU GOT PROBLEMS:
Your Custom Firmware must be 3.03 and up.
1) In some cases there are compatibility issues with the emulator, and to fix that you will have to get an external plugin: POPS LOADER
To enable this plugin you must: create "seplugins" folder in the root of your PSP, and extract the files there.
After that you have to turn on your PSP and hold the Right Trigger button until a blue screen appears. From there, select Plugins and enable the popsloader.prx.
2) Sometimes NO-UMD may prevent PSX Games from running, so you do better disable if you have issues: Right Trigger when booting the PSP, select Configuration and disable NO-UMD
