newbie look for a little assurance

This is my first post on this forum so please be gentle with me.

I have just got my wife to get me a psp and i am going to downgrade the firmware to 1.5.The psp was brought for toysrus and is a 1003 running 2.71.I have read a lot of stuff on the forum and believe i have the right stuff to do it.I have down loaded TA-082 downgrader i believe this is the right one for my machine.In the read me doc it mentions hen-d.what is hen-d do all 2.71's run this and more importent does mine.I know i'm going on a bit but i am easily confused and can not afford to get this wrong my wife would beat me to death with a big stick.

p.s is there any other software i need or you would recommend:confused:

Google search Hen-D.

Follow the readme to install it.

Open the hen folder in the photo menu and it will load, then you can use the downgrader.

Hi mate its me again. I can't make sense of this. I downloaded the file "11444_hend".The folder has 3 folders in it they are named checkworks,devhook and MS_ROOT .The only read me file is in the devhook folder it read
"This is HEN enabler D for devhook.
(it enables kernel homebrew written for 2.71 to be run with devhook).

Simply copy the folder dh to your root, overwriting the files."

Do i do this before i down grade to 1.5 or before?

I just don't get it at all

im a little unsure about this but ive heard the 2.80 downgrader is the most stable for ta-082 motherboards.

oh and put that folder in the root before and bouble check everything that you have done to make sure it wont brick and i think with that downgrader you need the idstorage fixer to avoid problems

only me again i have got the HEN-D working and am looking for the official sony 1.50 eboot and cant find it.When i get it do i have to rename it UPDATE.PBP . Thank you for all the advice

Grab it at http://dl.qj.net
Go to psp, firmwares, page 1, and you'll find it.

Get the PBP file and follow the instructions in the readme, it's either that you put update.pbp in the dg folder, or you put eboot.pbp in PSP/GAME/UPDATE, just look at the readme.

Great News i now have a 1.5 psp. Thank you all very much now to find out what i have to do now to play games and view movies from my memory stick. Thank you again i really appreciate it:thumbup:

first of all id recommend getting straight up to 3.40 oe

i've been looking for the 3.40 oe firmware with out much luck could you please point me in the right direction.
Does the fact that i have a TA-082 make any difference to any upgrades i do now

just use google for 3.40 oe easy installer as it comes prepacked with all the files, and no the fact you have a ta-082 should not affect future upgrades as my brother has the same motherboard and has not had any problems

Lol I hope it goes that well when I downgrade my new PSP with lumines , my old one's UMD drive has been KO'd

It's me again i've downgraded to 1.5 and then up to 3.4oe but i don't know how to do anything i could not do when it was fresh out of the box and 2.71. Could someone piont me in the right direction to find out what i can use the firmware i have now 3.4oe thank you

try out a homebrew. My 1st was fileAssistant , still use it often..

try out a few good homebrews such as snes9xtyl me, gpsp, genesis psp and homers rin

If you want to try a good homebrew game, search for metal blob solid psp.

It's the greatest port I've ever played for psp.

You put the homebrew folder(s) in PSP/GAME150

isnt there an easy TA downgrader? I always used that because im lazy.

theres always an easy downgrader just use google

hello everyone hope i find you all well.The wife is getting realy jealous of my psp.Anyway thats enough about her back to the psp.Could someone please tell me what i do with films when i have coverted them to play on the psp? I get two files one is the film and one is a small jpg .I think i have tried them in every file on the memorycard But still cannot see them on the psp thank you all
