Have you noticed...

that in the last year there have been loads of kickass new IPs? On the 360 there is Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Gears Of War, BioShock, Crackdown etc, with many more in the pipeline. The PS3 has Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, and to a degree Resistance. It's a nice change to see developers creating new IPs and taking advantage of the powerful new hardware rather than "doing an EA" and pumping out relentless annual sequels to mediocre games. Plus you have the quality, established franchises with upcoming sequels, and Rainbow Six not only returning to form, but blasting all other games in the series away....It really is a great time for videogames in general! :)

2008 looks to be even better: Little Big Planet!!!!.
speaking of which, it seems it will not be released until july. All the videos so far show a very polished product, which very competent design tools… and its almost a year away, hurry up!

I couldn't think of any new IPs for the Wii...After all I don't have one...

Anyway there are loads of great games for it on the horizon as well. Especially Mario Galaxy and SSBB!!

Oh yeah, and LittleBigPlanet looks like the business!

Yeah its nice to see some orginal content for a change. It seemed that we were stuck for a few years, only waiting for the big franchise sequels.

I was amazed with Bioshock. One of the best games I've ever played.

Wh00t for Bioshock! Its funny---Microsoft is obsessed with Halo 3, and thats absolutely nothing compared to the other AWESOME games coming out for 360!

the wii hasnt gotten any great new ip's this year yet.. i guess i'll settle with smash bros, metroid, mario, batallion wars, manhunt, trauma center, mario kart etc.

wii will be getting excite bike, endless ocean, no more heroes, and a few others though.

all in all its been a pretty great year for gaming and its just getting better :D

well nintendo don't really make new gaming series anymore (they have too many now) but i suppose you could count that new (rumored) kid Icarus game because we haven't see that series in 15 years.
