Yeah, the adapter is so you can plug the Memory Stick into a card reader.
You can just use the PSP as the card reader without the adapter.
Just put the Memory Stick into the PSP.
Nice, I picked one up on ebay for $74.00 and free shipping.

Wow, that's amazing. I knew they were "going" to come out with an 8 gig stick, but I didn't know it was out already. I might have to end up suing Sony for my Carpal tunnel after I get this.
Lol my 4gb is way big enough for me..
I sure need a 8gb stick. I've got only a 1gb stick and im not happy with this:(
that 8gb must be slow as hell..
Actually it runs slightly faster than a 4 gig card, the same speed as a 1 GB card (20 MB/s)
Why would the bigger card necessarily be slower, or did you mean slower as in just that the time to fill it would be twice that of a 4gb card?
The biggest factor in transfer time seems to be if your copying many small files or a few big ones, my sandisk standard blue 1GB and ultra II 4GB both seem the same to me. I don't think the PSP when used as a card reader can take advantage of the high-speed card's extra read/write speed.
The only issue with cards over 4GB is if you are running homebrew with the 1.5 kernel.
Because 3.71 m33 (on fat PSPs) can run homebrew via either the 1.5 or 3.71 kernel.
Most homebrew is being released for both so its not a huge deal, but not everything is (especially older apps). They will either need to be run through an eloader (somewhat slower I believe), or be ported over to run on the new kernel.
32GB memory card is coming out isn't it
