3.80 M33 News from Mathieulh

Mathieulh has let slip some more news on the status on custom firmware 3.80 M33

Heres the translated info:

MathieuLH has clarified an important and essential part of the policy of M33: quality first. It therefore through this little sentence that precipitation is no room for complacency and that the 3.80 M33 released once completed and functioning at 100%.

To date, 3.80 M33 already exists and boot perfectly. It allows running all homebrews in User mode and it is already good news. So what remains to be done?

Dark_Alex works currently on the NIDs Resolver allowing the launch of homebrews in Kernel mode and also to use, in theory, all the plug-ins present without modifications. This party is so much work and so time.

So take your bad to let patience and time to time. You know now that the 3.80 M33 is well advanced but the need to allow the artist to work ...

So for any non french people it means that 3.80 M33 firmware is already up and running and they are just ironing out bugs

as long as it's flawless upon release...they can take as long as they need... =)

All I really want is the remote play, but I am greatful that they are putting so much care into the firmware.

I'm still on 3.52 M33-4. None of my games require above 3.52, so I have been too lazy to update. But since Dax is adding extras to the next cfw, I will probably upgrade to it.

Yes, I recommend you to! I bet you'll notice quite a few changes from 3.40 OE to the newest M33.

I just didn't feel like upgrading. I do not have any game that requires a firmware higher than 3.40, so I thought "why should I mess with my flash?"

But now I think my psp shouldn't get too outdated.

Remote play works on 3.71M33 - just replace the premo_plugin.prx with an encrypted, no-sig checked premo_plugin.prx from 3.72 or 3.73 ;)

This works for remote play on 2.10 PS3 :D

I was beginning to worry a little seeing how Dark_AleX seemed to make a point to post a big release around the holidays in 2006. Nothing in 2007 though. Not that I care. I'd rather them take their time and not reveal too much until they are ready.

Dark_AleX's M33 custom firmware is still one of the biggest if not THE biggest thing in PSP homebrew. With every new CFW release I gain a new and increased fondness of my Slim PSP all over again.

Its not really messing with the flash in dangerous ways like older custom themes and stuff. You'll notice that Dark_AleX now ingeniously uses Sony's own updater to update the CFW.... :rofl: - Its really amazing. And with all of the built-in checks and measures in place, you can't really go wrong.

This is going to be the first custom firmware that will make me upgrade. ( yes I'm still on 1.5 :P )

How come you cant upgrade directly from the OE versions of the CFW? Its been a while since I upgraded mine too ;o)
