memory cards: how big can u go?

i read in the psp manual that 1gig cards are the biggest the psp will recognize. anyone know if this is tru? i just seen a san disk ad with a picture of a 2gig gaming card.

ouch, a 2gig stick!?! im too poor to afford somethign like that, i heard they cost like $400?!? if its almost twice the price of a psp, i dont think its worth it unless u have a good reason. im happy with my $60 512mb stick^^

i'll NEVER believe they'll be that price... i just ordered a 1gig for $98. u figure the 2gig will be $198...lol

Dont feel bad...I only have the 32mb also. ;)

And Ill only be able to afford a 128mb stick in the future....would that be enough? :confused:

well, its definately an improvement over the 32 meg one, but as for will it be enough, that compltely depends on what u will be doing, u will always run out of space really no matter what memory card u use
i had a 32mb card, i filled it up, i was happy
i got a 512mb card, happy i had more space, so i put more useless stuff on until it was just about full once again^^
so i'd say for the most part 128mb stick is just great, but if u r plannign to ever save a movie or lotsa music on there, or ever use neocd, i'd go witha bigger one.
but then again, 128mbs is still plenty

thats more than msot can say, anyways, the largest u can get is a 2gig stick, which is like almost 300 bucks last i heard, tho it mighta dropped in price by now...

I have a 1GB. My friend just got a 2GB on Ebay for $192 and 6$ shipping. So less than 200 total. Ironically, $198 just as someone said earlier in the thread lol. For now, i'm happy with the 1GB. But I think once more loaders/isos are released(Oh my god! Dont talk about that on here!), i'll get a 2gb.

wow $200 already? i'd have thought prices would have taken longer than that to drop down to acceptable levels, but here u r buyin at 200 bucks on ebay! thats so awsome! a couple months ago the lowest price u coulda gotten one for is like 400 bucks

i just got my 1gig yesterday and wow!!! the space is just lovely... im actually lookin at games i wouldve never checked with the 32meg. im still kinda upset that the 2gig worx (upset yet happy at the same time). i wouldve waited if i'd known.

I don't know about using it to play umd games via loaders. Last thing everyone needs is another dreamcast on our hands.. Emulators/Homebrew I see no problems with, but Sony needs to make money off psp games/movies or you can all kiss the psp goodbye. The psp rocks, I'd sure hate to see Sony stop producing it because they are losing too much money due to people playing PSP isos off thier mem sticks.. :(

I will be getting a 2 Gig stick soon hehe... and all my friends with their 2 GB mp3 playas will be hatin on my giant LCD screen playing great movies on it. :D
