iPSP: If Apple had designed the Sony PSP

Everybody loves the designs that Apple is creating. But we also like and need other gadgets too.
I’m a design fanatic, and ifI’m honest, there are many great gadgets out there that we like. But if you be honest - is there only one gadget that has such a clear and nice design like the Apple products? I don’t think so..

My good friend Pilau send me this picture of the “Apple iPSP”. I think if the Sony PSP would look like this I won’t let her out of my hand :-).

For sure the design of your gadget is not all, the most important are the things it can do. But I think a little bit of that dream is in all of us?

Maybe this is just my opinion, but the iPSP picture in the post is a big let down. I was expecting something beautiful, innovative, and just down right "Apple design sexy". This is not only a relatively bad Photoshop job, but it has nothing new to desire. Also, I doubt those buttons would allow enjoyable game play. I'm not trying to diss the author of this picture, but I just don't like the way it manages to make an iPhone look bad.

Totally agree. Maybe it's because they have no previous experience or reputation in the field (so far). Hey, Microsoft jumped in not too long ago, and man did they WOW us with the Xbox and Bungie's Halo:Combat Evolved. So many good memories. :rolleyes:

If apple designed the psp....

They would charge $600 for it and give it a good mp3 player. End of story.

Not only does it look uncomfortable, it looks too plain. plus apple would keep updating the model each year....

I personally agree that they need to jump back into the market. Notice how Macs do keep value over time and PC's just don't as they look crap :P. Funnily enough leopard still works on computers from five years ago.

Eh, I don't get the unconditional love for Apple, possibly the worst DRM company on the planet. They broke itunes, locked up their latest iPods etc. iPhone is nothing special either, Asian countries have had that tech for years now.

Not that I don't like them (iPod user), but Apple isn't as cool as they think they are.

If you gave me an iPod touch and a PSP, I'd pick the PSP in a heartbeat, so much more functionality and freedom and sexiness.

If I need some crappy software to transfer my music/videos, than they can keep it. BTW, the whole ipod thing is a great big marketing scam targeting the vast hordes of morons inhabiting this rock. Oh look, it's white and shiny and everyone else has one...I need it.

Wally: In terms of the latest OS running on older hardware I agree, sometimes in terms of looks also, but not always.

Sometimes an older, classic black IBM laptop ages better than what apple thought was 'stylish' at the time.

My lian li case is a cpl yrs old and I don't mind the look of it at all.

If apple designed the PSP, their stocks would fall even more! And the PSP would cost double what it is now, dumb ass and crappy apple... lol

heh yea the original Imac's and original Ibooks's are prime examples, you cant give those away nowdays (hell you couldnt give them away 2 years after they came out)

but when they were new all the apple freaks did backflips, and shelled out plenty of money for the 233mhz no ram retarded jellybeans

so what if its in a beige box is the underside of your desk really that big of a fashion snob?

and eventho my pc isnt a crystal and stainless work of art it still looks decent (for a box that sits next to a power strip and a trash can)

you would probably achieve great cramps an physical dismay with that one ! however, I am ver happy with both my macbook 13 and powerbook 15...

if i had to choose between an Ipod Touch and that i'd have to go with the touch. It's just not that good looking.
