the cheapest i paid was $.99 for an n64 game back when GameStop was getting rid of them.
I am old enough to remember when most games cost £1.99 new from the shops.
I did buy loads of Dreamcast games for £1 each when the machine died and HMV were desparate to get rid of their stock. I never got around to playing many of them, including the Ferrari racing game.

Cheapest game I've bought recently was Pariah for $1.00

Ive recently got Farcry instincts and Lost Planet Extreme condition for .99 cents each for the 360
The best places in the US for clearance games are at Target and Shopco. I get a lot of clearance PC games at Shopco for .99 cents and Target has a lot of NDS, PSP, and PC games at $2.50 and up, but most at the $2.50 level when they clearance them. I got a brand new Tony Hawks Motion (with the motion cart) at Target at the $2.50 level when even used ones here in Idaho were going for $24.99 and new ones for $34.99. I also got a bunch of older GBA games at Toy 'R Us 3 for $7 which is great except most were crap titles. When the Dreamcast went out and the Saturn before that I was getting great deals on their games all over town.
Well getting games for free technically isnt buying so i say Rockband 1 for the PS3 for like 10 bucks including shipping off ebay.
Used games, I bought a stack of atari 2600 carts for 50 cents each.
New I bought Terminator for sega cd for $2
