Ok SO Whats the Best Firmware for Homebrew and Emulation Now ?

In my PSP life, I've always strived to be or get to 1.5. I've always stayed away from custom firmware, but I was sorely tempted to try 3.02 OE. The only reason I went for was to have a look and the return to 1.5. That went right out the window. This firmware. is the best thing to hit PSP since the conception of DevHook. Look at it like this. PS1 games running near-perfect on your PSP. Both kxploited and non-kxploited homebrew ability. Recovery mode in case you brick. The ability to return to 1.5. No need to load DevHook. 8GB MS compatibility (hopefully).
And for the pirates ISO loading on the XMB (naughty naughty)
There is no contest really, everything you need in one firmware.

Ok ok, after the chat on the last few pages I'm convinced, I'm doing it.

I haven't heard anything bad yet and I have thought about it for a few days. I also have a ton of psone games I can convert that I can't wait to play. Custom firmware here I come, bye bye 1.5 my love, I'll always remember you.

It better be friggin worth it though lol. I hope themepsp still works. I'll let you guys know what I think when I'm done.

Let's see:
1.5: no Popstation
3.02 OE-B: has Popstation
There's an obvious winner

3.02 OE is better in every way except for no loading of IrShell (soon to be changed), Fastloader to make ISO dumps (legal backups only) and ThemePSP doesnt work.

3.02 OE can load most 1.5 and 2.71 homebrew, load tiff apps, has web browser and RSS, and has many more codecs. And of course PS1 emu.

Ok since I let you guys talk me into this...

I figured I should post my problem here and see if anyone has any ideas why my psone games wont play...

I've been at this for a couple hours, the install and everything went perfect but I am having trouble getting Hot Shots Golf to play, or any other game I have.

What folder to the games go in? I thought it was Game302, is that correct? Also, the only thing that needs to be in the folder is the eboot and key file right?

I have a good copy of Hot shots that should work. I am getting an error "80010002" though, right atfer the first screen comes up it exits me back to the xmb. How would I fix the licence issue if thats the problem? None of the games from the ps3 store work and I haven't even tried my backups yet.

Can someone help me figure out why my games don't work, I would hate to think I did all this for nothing, I made it this far. Thanks in advance.

Try putting them in your normal game folder, its how i run them. Or Game150, i have them in my normal game folder but have game set to 1.5 kernel acess

The PSX game you want to play should go in PSP/GAME150 which should have the EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN. I'd say you shouldn't run the official games from the Sony store, just make a rip of your PSX game, convert it and try. You should have no problems but if you still get the licence problem, I would say try to get another version of Hot Shots 2. You wouldn't have done all this for NOTHING, alot of users (if not all 3.02 OE-B users) in these forums have reported no problems with their PSX games.

I ran 1.5 with devhook .46 for quite a while, that was until 2.71se-c crossed my line of sight and I realized that for all my games I wouldn't have to use devhook.

After a while games came out that needed 2.8 or greater, so back to devhook. Now 3.02oe-a comes along and once again, NO DEVHOOK! Yay Then later the next day I hear full psx emulation for christmas...low and behold there it is! Im now a proud 3.02oe-b user playing final fantasy VIII.
