Its hard to comprehend what the guy is saying on his blog, with the Google translation, but I think the poor fella is not a happy camper cuz he cant put it back together

So. Its a Sirf-III, same chipset as your Holux, Deniska...

Edit: Forgot the link to the young man's blog:

Dump encrypted ones with C+D psar dumper tool and 3.03 FW ugrade psar

But in general, the only advantage of 3.00+ gps modules is that they would "remember" your latest location and use it for faster startup the next time.
I doubt that they could improve the sensitivity of the unit...
    Deniska,

First of all congratulations for your work! Your hard work make us happy pspeople

Ok, I read all this topic and I have a PSP GPS 290 with 3.03b firmware version. I installed the MAP THIS! version 0.461S (beta) and put those prx files that I got from PSP290TEST but they didn´t work for me. I tried to extract both from 3.03 with psar dump Version 2B and I coudn´t. Could you send me those files you extracted or help me extract them?

    Best regards!

Well I played with the Geolook up some more. Here is what I did and my results:

While using version .46 (not the one for the Sony GPS device)... I am able to do the Reverse Geolookup no problem. But even if I use that address and try the Geolookup it says it can't find the location.

Note: I tried it with the included New York map and it worked great!

So is the problem my geodata file? or something else?

Post your geodata.dat file, sample lookup query which is supposed to work (but does not) and the expected gps address (lat/lon) of that address so I could build a sample map around it to test your problem...

You MUST have custom firmware (3.02+) by dark alex and make sure you run in under 3.03 kernel

y0 man! You need to downgrade your firmware version to 1.5 then you can run Map This on your psp!

    I forgot some things.

First you must know if you have the TA-082 model. Then you must search for the installer for this model or others non-TA-082 models. Before update to 3.03, you must have downgraded your firmware to 1.5!
    Then:

    3.03OE-A

    And the update 3.03 OE-B:
