I've got exactly the same problem, and yesterday it occured even with the green proggy. My opinion is the psp290 unit needs a lot of energy, because at this moment, my battery was around 45% charged when the prog freezes and my psp crashes...

One thing ive noticed before it shuts down is the lattitude will show in the negative when it shouldn't be. Im not sure if this is the cause of the crash but would look likely to me with the minor exp ive had with the software.

ive tried adjusting initlocation with no luck. any ideas?
Just a guess, your psp wouldn't be having a TA082 motherboard, would it? I recalled there was a post about this a while ago. I have neg. lat as well and it was good.

If not, maybe try with different prxs'

Its a PSP-1000 from original JPN release. Will try some other prxs and see how I go.

Just tested with a 3600mAh battery at 100%, same problem.

I will concentrate on the prxs and see what I get.

Edit: Tried with the prxs from 2.71, quickly got a fix but then the co-ords were way off, pressed select and got a out of range error. it then reset the psp.

Edit: Tried different variations of prxs from all firmwares from 2.71, I either have an issue with the LAT/LON being way off, or LAT/LON is correct but lat is in the negative which it shouldnt according my my physical location. 3.02/3 gives me the latter.

Tested one curious thing : reset your psp with the R button, to go to the recovery mode. Then select "configuration", "fake region" then "japan".

I've no more freeze, but just one sat in view (and no fix, of course...:x) when location value is set on 1, even in the green prog.

But it prooves that perhaps a jap receptor (as mine, cuz i live in France, and there's no expected release of the psp290 in Europe) MUST be used only with japanese psp...

... and my psp is older than those wich are TA-082 equipped, as yours (but mine is an european).

Thanks for the suggestion but it didnt make a difference for me. The test program has no problems with getting a fix, a little slower with mapthis. Im hopefull that once I sort out the LAT to show '35.000' instead of '-35.000' then the crashing will stop in mapthis.

ill keep trying other things out, thanks.

This have been noted in forums already....

usbgps.prx from 2.71 fw seem to have a bug with negative lat/lon values.. this of course should not be much of a problem for japanese users, since they have it all in positives valules...

Default Deselecting maps using in7ane's Tool

    Hi Deniska,

when using "in7ane's" tool to download the google maps I have tried to deselect some of the map tiles with no success(all map tiles were downloaded if selected or not), have you or any other forum "testers" experienced this and if so is there a workaround?

    Greetings

deselect? are you talking about unchecking the tiles in the 8x8 grid that pops up after you hit the "Download Map" or "Pull Files" button? When you deselect the tiles, that just means that you're not downloading the more detailed views of those tiles, but you're still downloading them, the not-so-detailed views that is.

And try going over to the GMDL forum, link below.
