You still have to convert the files....so I dont really see much point.
You still have to convert the files....so I dont really see much point.
Well, for starters, the pmp format is designed specifically for the PSP, so the videos will be cropped and resized to the PSP's screen. Secondly, after all the resizing, cropping, converting, it generally decreases the file size opposed to the raw file.
For example:
(just to prove a point) Casino Royale movie from DVD rip:
6.7gb of raw decrypted vob files. Converted it is around 300-350 mb with near (visually and audibly) quality.
(more realistically) American History X from torrent:
909 mb of avi file 384x288 @ 130kbps 23 fps
Converted: cropped to 320x240 = 261 mb
Now I'm not sure what the screen resolution of the PSP is but the original American History X avi is close. The difference is 648 mb. Good enough reason for me to convert it to pmp format. Plus the pmp players offer much more features than that psplayermt.

HI,
I convert FF7 Advent childrent to PMP AVC using XVID4PSP. I have (external .SRT) subtitle with Verdana font and size 8. PPA show my video have 1 subtitle but when i play it, subtitle doesn't show up.
Any ideas?
thanks...
EDIT: answer to my own question... I must place a true type font in the font folder eg. Verdana and edit the config.xml.
For those who interest, Verdana Bold & Size 12 look great on the PSP.
