Could possibly be the most impractical modification I've seen. But still, some moron had to do it!

The maniacs at Tom's Hardware behind the solar Wii have done it again, this time making a solar Nintendo device that's a bit more portable. Yes, they've brought their sun-loving ways to the DS Lite, making a version that lets you have marathon Mario Kart DS sessions without needing to plug in and get rejoiced.
Personally, I'm not exactly a whiz with the soldering iron, so I'd be afraid of accidentally fusing two of my fingers together, but this looks like a pretty sweet project for the more handy of you out there, so be sure to check out their step-by-step guide showing how they created this monster.

screens to dim to play in direct sunlight+system that needs to be played in direct sunlight= total moron.
Wait for the visor attachment. It folds out off the sides and shades the two screens.
After getting hot solder on me many times, soldering is not for me.![]()
thatz .... not really smart , i think,
dude, the power point is over there,
the sunlight will burn up the DS ^^
Ice_Man you're wrong. You can close your DS and let the batter charge up then you can play without the solar panels. Notice the hinges.
Makes sense if you can charge the battery cells using direct sunlight. I'm in a place where there are places there are no electricity. You may run out of water, but you can still play the DS until heat stroke kicks in.
