PSP firmware 3.30 decrypted!

why would i want to upgrade to 3.30 when i still havent got a good reason to upgrade to 3.10 imo 3.03 is still the best / most custumizable. the only thing i want is a new pops loader for psx games.

Well I hope you have food and water near by because its still going to be a while. Decrypting has nearly nothing to do with downgrading. They still have to find an exploit which is all the trouble.

But a new CF might be in the making and maybe with full customization

i thought the updates in 3.30 sucked a bit really... i want more ps3 integration ! improved remote play perhaps.

I suppose I can understand why so many people like the customization benefits, but I personally don't give a damn. When I'm playing homebrew/emulators, watching video, or playing PSP games, the icons and PSP menu are not visible.

If all I did with the PSP was browse the menu, I know I'd be dabbling into the customization more but honestly I don't see the big deal with custom icons/fonts, etc.

Yeah I hear that, I just use my Packers background and navigate through my XMB, though the background I have is sick so it's not really attracting to change the XMB customization.

I think the main reason for XMB customisation is to have a unique PSP. Sure a handful of people probably use the exact same theme, but the chance of them living in the same area is low so they still have a unique theme compaired to local PSPs.
This could be useful to easily distinguish PSPs apart if someone was to steal it.

But the main reason is probably that the offiicial XMB gets repetative after a while, so a new theme 'refreshes' the PSP.

Personally, I would choose functionability over customability. However, everything that can be customised, I have done.
