Wow it looks way different than the old psp's insides.

Gizmodo dug up the FCC filings for the new PSP, PSP-2000. Isn't that the greatest model number ever? The manuals and such have a bit of new details buried in them which they, and I, were able to dig up. Most importantly though, are the specific size and weight details:
The current PSP is 170mm x 74 mm x 23 mm and weighs about 230 grams with the battery in, while the new PSP is 169.4 mm x 71 mm x 18.6 mm and weighs 189 grams.
- The new PSP (PSP-2000) doesn't come with a Remote Control and you can't use the original PSP's remote with it.
- You can charge the PSP with a USB cable. (It takes about two hours, 20 minutes to charge with AC and five with USB)
- Display button: Pressing it changes between three levels of brightness, holding it for more than one second turns off the backlight and holding for more than five switches to video output.
- Its TA-085 PCB motherboard is homebrew-conducive.
- The battery has been shrunk from 1800mAh to 1200mAh, but retains hour rating.
- WLAN switch has been relocated to top.
- TV-out cable is not included.
- USB cable is not included.
Wow it looks way different than the old psp's insides.
what does homebrew conducive mean??
And for that matter, it looks really organized in there, i cant wait to get one to see how i can mod it![]()
you what does it mean. I was going to ask the same ?
Probably means that homebrew on a TA-085 works when the idstorage is patched. But an exploit will first need found for the firmware it will come out with. Its TA-085 PCB motherboard is homebrew-conducive.
I actually am kinda dissapointed the wifi card is no longer removable...
Well I hope the antenna isn't soldered on the board!
We definitely lost all of that wonderfull space behind the wifi card that was great for modding.
Maybe we can use the slimmer screens in the old psp to free up some more room in the old psp.
Funny thing sony never made use of the IR port, guess they decided IR is on the way out
That's okay I have 3 old psp's all hacked and some physically modded and wil probably pick up a slim and take it apart. :P
sorry for the broken thoughts, very busy these days...
what did u mod after taking out the wifi card
the antenna, next I'm adding a adaptor so I can use a cantenna I just picked up. Cantenna+psp+targuskeyboard=psp heaven. A psp is almost a viable replacement for a laptop,at least in my case.I do all the heavy stuff at home.
...mac address...
Just the same as with the old Gameboy Color. It had an IR-Port, but the was barely one game that used it...
The new SlimPSP isn't as great as I expected it to be, just a little slimmer...The only thing that sounds good is the TV-Out. But I hope some hackers will find a way to connect the old PSP to the TV or at least PC-Monitor.
Actually it is good that the new PSP isn't really different. Thus I do not have to buy a new one
 OLD PSP FOREVER!!!
