Will it be fully compatible with previous GP2X?

Darthmaul: The psp wasn't the first console with homebrew, not buy a longshot, so how can the ds be blamed for unoriginality because it uses homebrew you silly little girl

I think this console has the potential to go places provided you can still use that wikid dock and the old brew for it.

The psp homebrew scene is nothing special, its blown way out of proportion and if anything is like the black album for metallica: Nothing special but popularized something

so and so copied blah D blah because they made theirs smaller first is a retarded argument, its just the nature of electronics, as time progresses electronics get more powerful, and their predicesors get smaller
Yeah but those are whole new systems. What Sony did,was to release the same consoles smaller, that's all. Not calling it PSP2 or PS2 just because it was smaller.

The name's DarthPaul.. And I know the PSP wasn't the first console with homebrew, but the DS was the first one with Touch-screen,that's what I meant you silly little cutie boy. Hey and don't mess with Metallica! They are the awesomeness, and yes,the Black Album was great. I love it,as well as all others. It has Sad but True! Enter the Sandman,Of wolf and man,etc... Metallica 4 Life!

no they are the exact same old systems in a smaller form factor, and the name addons were in house only

if you went out in 1986 and bought a nes you got a grey and black box, if you went out in 1991 and bought a nes you got a smaller white box, modeled to take after the super nintendo, but they were both called the
Nintendo Entertainment System, and there was no hardware changes

atari 2600? if you bought one in 1978 you got a rather large black and woodgrianed box, in 1982 (?) you got a black and chome box roughly half the size

master system? in 86 you got a maroon and black box, in 90 you got one half the size looking like the genesis, even further they shrank it down to a handheld

genesis in 1989 you got the one with the circle on top and maroon accents, by 94 you had one about 25% smaller, also with the sega cd addon went from the size of a VCR to a large diskman, then even further they shrank it down to a handheld

all of these are not new systems, just new form factors as time shrank components

Too little too late really. The 'upgrade' is not buying another GP2X for. There is another handheld due for release next year with projected specs that look to be much better then this: http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showtopic=38044

I've been following that thread for the past couple weeks. It really is sounding like it's going to be the homebrew handheld to be waiting for. This IS too little too late for GPH. I love my GP2X, but there were some issues, overall though I have been very pleased. Sega CD on the go and MAME, I love it. Plus all kinds of amazing homebrew games, and apps. A lot of people here should check out that thread Yaustar posted. It's going to be a nice handheld that some devs in the GP2X/GP32 scene have already been collaborating to help develop.
