300 pounds isnt that much for a phone here in the UK.

I payed 400 for my SPV m3100 when it was release. Couldnt get it on contract so i had to pay the PAYG price on ebay, and that was a good deal! They were all going for like 500.

If you have to find a cheap phone, try one of the later Nokia S60 series. I hear they've got quite a few working emulators out for them

True , I payed £300 for my O2 Xda Orbit WM6 so its fairly cheap really.

The W960i looks a nice phone but I wouldnt purchase it just for the fact I have gone off walkman phones as everyone has one these days I like to have a phone that hardly anyone else has.
