Ergo Proxy worth getting?

Like in the title. I recently saw ep.1 on a disc that came with Neo magazine and I thought it looked great and had potential. Have any of you anime lovers out there seen the series and would you say it's worth getting in to?

I've been meaning to get into some new stuff recently having ignored anime for a while so any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, has anyone seen the latest Karas? If so, what's it like? I loved the animation in the first one (prophecy) and would hope the new one provides a suitable follow up and climax to the story.
