Red face Larger screen for DS

I am the Dad of two children who knows next to nothing about any games consoles.

My daughter loves her DS Lite and plays with it constantly. My son would like to do the same but he is visually impaired and the screen on a DS lite is far too small for him to see any detail.
He does play with his PS quite happily because the screen is the TV.

Can you get a magnifier for a DS or DS lite screen and/or is there a way to hook one up to a TV or monitor screen?

Be really grateful for any advice.
    Cheers

Hm, this would definitely require some hardware modifications of some sort. I know there is a device that hooks a DS up to a TV, but it only does the top screen so it's not all that useful.

The main problem is the touchscreen, as it would be difficult to magnify that and still retain its ability to detect touches.

The closest thing I can think of would be the Jumbotron DS project, but the creator used nearly $600 worth of spare parts to make it.

might be better to consider getting a wii
closest thing to a DS you can easily get to work on a TV.

or if it's about portable gaming, get a PSP, because it has a much bigger screen.
(wtf, did i just say that? O_O)
