i think you should buy a ps3 aswell, so every time you need to send your 360 in you can play your ps3 while you wait

I'm sorry to hear about your Xbox dude.

It seems to be happening to alot of people, Microsoft need to pull their finger out and get this problem sorted.

Yeah, it's annoying but it's not like I can't live without it. At least I don't have to pay anything.

I've managed to actually start Shemue 2 on my DC anyway, but I'm finding it hard adapting back to it, having got used to the dual analogue controls of the 360. It looks well jaggy on my HDTV too, even using a VGA box. I'm hoping once I get immersed into the story, that these things won't matter and I'll get swept along by it.

A courier collected my 360 on Wednesday and it arrived in Frankfurt for repair Thurs night so I'm hoping things will get turned around quickly. Bank holiday might delay it a touch, but since it took me about a year (on and off) to finish the first Shenmue, I'd imagine No.2 will keep me busy, especially when I can access Outrun and the other arcade games

Ha yeah mine got the RROD yesterday, I decided to fix it myself and all is well now but it sure took a hell of a lot of time.

There is more to it than just RROD you can actually check your error code by holding the little white connect button and click eject it will flash a number 1-4 and you can check ur error code at Llamma.com

I'm still hoping this never happens to my xbox, I got it before the new chip. I really hope you get your back soon, mine has become my dvd player as well so it would be a double blow to me.

Thanks for the link to the code guide Pibs. If I (or any of my pals with 360s) have the RRoD problem, I'll refer them to that page. Might prove insightful. Hopefully you'll be OK cal360, but be wary. Mine was a pre-falcon model, bought Oct 06, but I can't say I ever really over-used it or anything. Probably never had it on for over 3-4 hrs at a time and most of the time less than that. Good luck with it and if you do get a fault, I hope it is RRoD - at least thats covered after 1 year.

So do I get a RRoD membership card ?

I've tried registering the device on the Xbox site so I can request a repair, but for some reason it won't accept me submitting the Serial No. I've sent an email to the support team, so I'll see what happens.

I was wondering if there any other UK folk who have had to get a 360 repaired? How long will the process take?

    Cheers.

    EDIT:

Called MS Support this morning and got through straight away. They asked me to turn the 360 on and asked about the status of the power pack. Upon reporting it showing a green light, they're gonna send a courier to pick up the machine in 5 working days. I just have to pack it up, minus cables/power pack/HD etc in a plain box. Total call length 5 mins. Not bad.
Sorry to hear that mate, mines broke last year before I got Live and it took roughly 4-5 weeks to do the whole process, pretty smooth like.

Spent most of my time rediscovering Shenmue

So I got my 360 back today, a mere 9 days after it was taken away by UPS. Not bad as I'm still on Disc 1 of Shenmue 2

It seems to be working fine, is perhaps a touch quieter and to make up for the inconvenience it came with a month subscription to Xbox Live. I have to say (assuming it'll carry on working fine from now on) that I'm pleasantly surprised and happy with how my problem has been dealt with by Microsoft. I hope they can keep up this level of service.

I thought it would be nice for someone to say something positive as it's usually the negative that get vocalised on forums and whatnot.
