Same thing without battery. Powers up, shows date and time, powers down.
try taking out the battery and just connect the power lead with the battery out. then turn it on

it doesnt sound good.
One last idea.. Try starting it with the umd in. let it load for a few seconds and take it out just before it loads. It's a long shot but might work.

Hi, I'm back after a sleepless night. Still no change to the PSP. Plays the demo disk quite happily, but when you home and exit, it just goes black and then powers down. The demo disc is actually the only one that starts poor aol Spiderman just fails to get off the ground at all as does any non-disc start-up.so I am in your hands. As a final fling, if I send it to Sony, what ver will I get back?
sorry i didnt get back to you yesterday.
my isp's server was down and i was barley able to access the internet.
So if you send it back to sony it's a mystery what firmware you get back.
I have a spare 2.6 motherboard i will sell to you on ebay if you want. it sounds like that downgrader you used has corrupted your flash.
so will it work for v2.6 or not
