My problem doesn't really have to do with the actual PSP hardware, its more about my computer. I start by downloading the MPHDowngrader.zip from this site and I open it up. When I try to copy the file h.bin an error message comes up saying "The system cannot find the file specified." and it wont let me copy the file onto my computer or into my PSP. I have used many different programs and many different methods to try and get it out of the zip file with no luck. I have Windows XP and I was wondering if anyone had any idea about this and could maybe try to help me.

It did that on mine. did it have 3 of each letter?

I just downgraded even though i already had 1.5 I did it again because i heard there were some problems if you downgraded from 2.6. It was simple thanks to the awesome guide if you have a problem finding the file just disable your antivirus software and any types of firewalls that may stop the files from being copied to the PSP.

Yea I feel for mr shizzy but atleast hes got his friends PSP on emulted 1.5 firmware I think hell have it fixed soon

psp_iz_my_system. downgrade. it will ask you to restore default settings. that is normal. just downgrade- there are pretty much NO risks of bricking.
