Default i took my dc apart and I need help...

I took my dc apart to paint it and change the LED and i put it all back together fine but the open button won't work. the lid doesn't automatically come up like it should. This is because the spring that goes in the back of the lid by the side that the power/av cables plug into isn't there. I have it but I'm not sure exactly how to fit the spring back together so it works. If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. I hope my question makes sense.

Springs provide hours of lol...when its not you . I really wish I could help but I haven't modded a dreamcast in years. Everybody around here traded them in when Sega dropped out of the console biz.

Here's a pic for you (I hope you don't mind me stepping in here Triv1um).

I've had a quick butchers at my DC and tried to show the spring (roughly) and where each end point hooks in.
There's one view of the button spring too, incase it's that that's wrong.

so the coil hooks around the black plastic piece, and the flat straight part presses the lid up and is visible when opened?
