Help: Touchscreen

The other day I went to text someone and it seems that the touchscreen no longer works on the bottom twenty pixels all the way across (does that make sense? like 20x320 I guess)...anywho I cant use spacebar/numbers/hit enter in safari. I was wondering if it was definetely a hardware problem (cant send it in- didnt buy from apple) or if it could be software and if reformatting would work.

doubt its a software problem. doefinately sounds like a touchscreen problem. you could try recalibrating? but i know that wont help. srry man. looks like your screwed.
