And Vampdude, Mario Sunshine's a platformer... and one of the main games in the franchise. And as you can see, it's tied but in the lead with Mario World.

But still, Paper Mario is awesome. And the only reason I didnt include it is because the poll list shouldnt be THAT long.
I never played Mario Sunshine, it's the only Mario Game that never turns up in the local game exchange.

The poll should have been "On what console is the best Mario game" which I'm going to create, cause all the Mario games should be there (although there are too many).

    Super Mario World

Sunshine is OK at the beginning but it gets boring fairly quickly.

    In my opinion

    Mario 3
    Mario World
Mario 2 (Doki Doki Panic version)
    Mario 1
    Mario Land 2
    Mario 2 Lost Levels
    Mario 64

The others I'm not very acquainted with.

    And I hate Yoshi's Island.

What are you people talking about!! Yoshi's Island was universally praised as a worthy successor to Super Mario World (it's Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island), sold extremely well, and when the 'Advanced' version was released it was also met with great acclaim.

You people must have never played it and are relying solely on the name, which makes it sound like a horrible horrible spinoff, but it is in fact a direct successor.
If anyone is looking to buy, sell, trade games and support a developer directly at the same time, consider joining Goozex. Enjoy!

I played it on my uncles SNES, I never got past the first world though. It was a sequel (in prequel form), but a whole different game of its own.

I know it was Super Mario World 2, and even though it looks really good for SNES, it just doesnt feel like a Mario game at all to me, but I DO like the last boss fight with Bowser running towards the screen and all that.
