Default starfox 2 on the snes! have a read

hi, i decided to flick through my roms the other day and found this game, 'race drivin' didn't really take to it much, but it was 3d. the cars were 3d and so was the surroundings. so i thought, maybe there were some games like this that would kill time, that were of course fun. so i found out what hardware was necessary to run these kinds of games on the snes back in the day.
the 'fx chip'. there a 2 actually. super fx chip 1 and super fx chip 2.

some games using fx were good and some failed. while starfox2 was finished not long before the n64, it still looks really good considering the restrictions put in place.

you might look at it and say "wtf is this? looks old and crappy" well firstly....shut up :P nah jus kidding, and secondly, it may look pretty old and crappy to new aged gamer but to someone who still recognizes a good retro game and what it did for itself at the time, it is THE awesome.
not only does it boast real rendered 3d geometry, but every object is surprisingly in depth for a snes game.

now starfox 2 wasn't released apparently, because the n64 was drawing in too close. but it was still completed and is available for us today.

    *cough*romsite*cough*

    heres a video:

5 star all the way! even though it's short

and another thing, in the list of uncompleted/unreleased games, something caught my attention; Super Mario FX

it's interesting to know that, that particular game was a little too big for the fx chip, so guess what? Nintendo 64 came along :P
so there you go people, thats why mario runs so well on your emulator, cos they were attempting to make it run on a snes :P

oh and make sure you check the wiki page for pretty much all I've said and more. :P

    thanks for reading

Yes, this chip was awesome back then. Too bad few games used it.
